I have this router and love it, but see a review of all these trim routers saying it sucks because it's hard to adjust, just falls out.

Btw the router (DRT50ZJX2)has just been released today with the plunge base and offset base as well as the standard in one of the new stackable cases( think festool) for $355 Aus. Standard tool is $249 Aus. Very tempting after your review though I'm not sure if I would have a need for the other bases already having a plunge router. Have pasted the part numbers of the new bases below to make them easier to order if wanted.

I have this router and i love it. i was in the store for an hour trying to decide whether to go corded or cordless! it's so stable and easy to handle. Only real negative i have with it is chews batteries like mad. Even still, would highly recommend. Thanks for the video mate, although it was a tad long for my taste.

I started some woodworking projects at home. I realized pretty fast that once you start with the visible work. You won’t get far without one of these. I’m already all in on makita. So the choice is easy for me. It seems like people are pretty happy with the woodworking tools from makita. Good quality for the money. The plungesaw is another great example. Festool is great, but only if you are a dedicated preffesional that needs that extra edge. Very expensive.

4 years later I got the 14.4V version which has both 6mm and 8mm collet.

love this router. was going to buy a 2nd one but they jumped from 129- 149 . Not a huge deal but sux. All the corded version accessories fit this router. I purchased the plunge base and it brings this router to next level.

I've walked away from this tool twice now at the makita stand at the local merchants. I thought I'd wait to see a film like this offering a tradesmans opinion. Nice to see it being used. Thanks. First thing I'll buy after the xmas hols. 👍

Great video, not out in the UK, never even seen it before, do you have a 10.8v cxt brushless drill driver? love to see a video on that, the non hammer version
