I just cracked 61,000 miles on my 2016 V Star 1300. It had .2 miles on it when I bought it. I've toured that 1300 Tourer all over North America. I've been pulling a Mini Mate with it this summer. Brilliant performance out of it. Very well pleased. I would have bought another on if they still made it. 4.4 gallons is the effective fuel tank on the 2016. The mostI've ever gotten out of thar was 229.4 miles. 42 MPG is my normal with a heavy throttle when I'm riding in eastern NC close to the ocean. In the mountains liaded for a 60 day trip I have pulled 51-52 MPG out of it regularly.

I made a trip with a couple of friends from Florida to Grand Canyon and what you said about passing another on 5th gear response it is absolutely awesome. During the pass over Muley Point the road was very rough and Dugway road the suspension worked perfectly fine, missed the dark side tire as I have on the Shadow's rear tire to experience on the mountains for curves and turns. What I like the most is the comfortable seat and handle bar. Expecting to replace the spark plugs for Iridium and see its behavior on the next ride. Love the Yamaha 1300 V Star

I got a 2007 1300 V-Star Raven with 4,000 miles on it for $3,200 a month ago and Love It !!!!! I have never driven a Crusier" Hog"before. I actually like it better than my Honda Goldwing..... Go Yamaha !!!!!

Did yours have the hard bags on it? Or a fairing/windshield? Just wondering. I just bought an 07, 8k miles black with hard bags and a black batwing fairing for 4k

Proud owner of first year 2007 inception, changed out original cans for black cobra 2into1 pipe and power commander. Still love it in 2022. And it’s a good unique looking cruiser…looks batmobile like to me. You did a good fair review on it.

I'm 5'8" I swapped out the handle bars with a Royal Star Deluxe - Much better. Felt like I was reaching too far forward before that. Much more comfortable reach and riding position. Didn't have to swap any cables. I did have to purchase new grips. Swapped out the OEM seat for a Mustang seat with the driver back rest! Highly recommend. Also, purchased a COBRA slip on and removed the baffle. OEM exhaust sounded like George Jetson's space ship. I love it!

I've rung up all the speedometer had to offer before. Still super smooth and stable.

I have one, I like it, feels about as capable as my Yamaha Stratoliner 1900, but its easier to push around and slow speed maneuver partly due to the lower seat, Stratoliner is 820-840 lbs, the Vstar is like a vacation is some ways, but I'd like thicker handle bars like on my Stratoliner

I will just say that I find the brakes to be as good as any I’ve ever had. And the stock touring bags are basically second to none in ease of use. Bike handles 2up well. Have to feel back there at times to make sure I didn’t forget my wife. The only thing that I’ve found impossible to cure on this bike is helmet buffeting with the windshield on, no matter how tall it is, or with fork deflectors. So I ride without.

Was wondering how you get from the clock to the mileage...
@tomsreviews2386 жыл бұрын
The 1,854 cc V-Twin is a push-rod motor, much different than the other V-Stars. I have owned a Roadliner, a Bolt and just got a 1300 touring. The Roadliner's 1,854 Twin, is a different animal all together.

7:30 I have this exact bike. I get 210 miles easily out of each tank. You can go 40 miles with the low fuel light on.

I have the 1300 and am thinking about a stratoliner or raider. Have you ridden them since this video? how do they compare power and handling wise?
@Makswerks14 жыл бұрын
Cant speak to the strat, but I owned a Raider. Raider is more stylish but you pay for that front wheel with really heavy steering. They got more displacement and are probably faster, but in this class of bike overall speed is sort of moot. All these bikes pass great on the highway

I went with the Royal Star instead of the V Star. I didn't like clunky gearing and second gear is too tall for low speed. It did have plenty of power and rode smooth on the highway, so if those other things don't bother you then it's a great value for what you get.

I'm a little over 50 years old with a 30" inseam. Haven't ridden in a decade. Last rode a 1978 Honda CB750K. Looking between A Vulcan 900, 1500 and V-Star 1300. Concerned about the size and cornering with the 1300. Do you think this bike might be OK or would the Vulcan 900 be better size for my experience and height?
@Makswerks12 жыл бұрын
The 1300 is a heavy bike. Its comfortable and fairly low. The 900 will be easier to maneuver but less fun holding 80mph all day. Just depends on what you plan on doing with it
@octavio96482 жыл бұрын
@@Makswerks1 Thanks a lot man! I really appreciate the info!
@sportify484911 күн бұрын
@@octavio9648actually vn900 is quite heavy. Not much different to the yamaha 1300 v Star. If you want a low and light VN then consider the VN800. Much lighter than the 900.

How do you compare this motorcycle with virago xv1100?
@Makswerks18 ай бұрын
Fuel injection is a huge plus, more power, smoother delivery. The XV in my opinion is a better looking bike, but mechanically the VStar is a completely different thing. Like a 69 mustang vs '09 mustang

@@Makswerks1 thanks for your reply. Being a lighter bike is xv1100 torque comparable to xvs1300 ? I have an xv750 and thinking to upgrade .
