It _could_ be that those TV stations are being scammed, and the Malala living in the UK is genuine. However, I doubt it. I've read that the father had ambitions to profit from a network of schools, and was subsequently struck some kind of deal with a company called McKinley and co. who have ties to the UN, and wish to get involved in an education program of theirs in a private-public partnership arrangement.. I cannot say for sure that this does lie at the heart of the Malala story, but I find it very suspicious that the dad has landed a high-flying diplomat gig working for the Pakistani consulate in the UK, despite having no relevant qualifications, or, really, much relevant experience. Another, more obvious motive, is that villainising the Taliban in such a cartoonish way provides justification for constant drone-strikes into Pakistan, such as the one that killed the leader of the Taliban this week. I don't see these two motives as being mutually exclusive, especially when international and Governmental bodies are involved. It was she who suggested that Malala should be taken to the UK for further treatment because she felt that there was more chance of her getting an infection from the hospital.
