The drill helped pull my swing together, it’s made everything else I knew I needed to do come together easily. If you follow Mike’s instruction exactly you shouldn’t need any supervision either. Mike has another video that covers the drill a little more in depth. Thank you Mike

Mike, I can't thank you enough for your videos! My miss is a block right and when you showed how the hips have to slide because of the shoulder being locked in place.. it's like you were speaking directly to me. Love the way you instruct.

thanks mike , started playing at age of 35 and it toke probably 5 years or so before i broke 80 and from time to time shot even to 1 or 2 under once or twice then some time around the age of 55 my wing speed and mechanics went to shit.. about 6 months ago a freind turned me on to your videos and i liked it, your videos are clear and to the point and stays on topic. started binge watching ever since. For the last six months watched the video on standing the shaft. watch it over and over and took on the range and the course, my short game and putting has never been the problem, just tee to green, never around the green, went from 14 handicap to a 4.8 according to SCGA stat. in 6 months I'm 59yrs old. and because of your video instructions i am regularly breaking 80 with NO elbow or back pain, enjoying the game like never before!!! i feel like i should send you a check even if I probably can't afford your pro lessons. don't expect it cause id probably bounce!!! :) But i do thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! :) I am stunch believer of your teaching methods and techniques!!! thank you once again. Erwin.

Hello Mike, I'd like to thank you for all your youtube videos. I've been following you for months now. (I was a member of your website and I will re-join soon.) But, I seriously started to apply your tips to my swing a couple of months ago. I've seen much improvement in my golf swings for all clubs. And, I feel like this video gave me the last piece of puzzle and it gave me an a-ha moment regarding the shoulder turn. With this in mind, yesterday I shoot 74, the best round of the year (my handicap is 8). It could have been an under par round if I had avoided the stupid triple bogey. Anyway again, I greatly appreciate your instruction!!

Holy crap. I have been stuck in my weekly golf clinics with a death grip on the left hand causing too much tension for me to progress from poorly-done L-to-L drills. 7:35 This drill is amazing.

Mr. Malaska - Thanks for all your videos. I’ve found them extremely helpful, and I’d love give back by answering one of your questions! 3:40 happens because folks are already “winding up” to smack the crap out of it. I recognized the move instantly. (I have a good mirror.)

Looking forward to trying this drill home in front of the net (with video camera) as my swing is very much like Bill's.

Long Island in the house 👍 lol. Good lesson though and I too used to be too tight. And even though it seems wrong, you’ll be able to hit the ball way further w a loose and easy swing, compared to a tensed up heman swing w maximum arms created torque. Goes the same for any sport too. Once you feel the natural kinetic chain of that whip movement that comes from the bodies most efficient use, you’ll amaze yourself and never go back.

Thank you - for the golf drills - I started to incorporate some of your drills in my driving range practice - the 4 step drill - the right foot left toe & left foot right toe drill - please note I didn’t incorporate these drills together- my question to you - I like your opinion on a golf mat called Auc-strike - I work with this mat indoors looking forward to your opinion- thank you- Keith from San Francisco

I am exhausted after playing a round of golf because of all that shoulder tension; and it's not just my shoulders. It's literally everything from my claves up. And I suspect it comes from reading / thinking that the hands must be kept as far away from the body as possible in order to create width in the swing. I'm constantly pushing away. This even makes me squeeze the life out of the grip.
@MarkwayHomes7 жыл бұрын
tension ruins your swing more than anything.. once you have the basics down. And read Zen Golf by Joseph Parent.. this will without a doubt help an 8 handicap

So true! Every time I go to the course not expecting to play well because I’m working on something I play well but when I go and expect to play well I shoot like shit! Nerves and tension are a golf killer!

Just tried turning my left hand further to right on the grip. Felt a definite increase in tension in left shoulder. Has to happen as the shoulder muscles turn/twist.
