താൻ വളരെയേറെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ശേഷം പീഡിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട നായിക ആയത് കൊണ്ട് കൂടിയാണ് 'നമുക്ക് പാർക്കാൻ മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പുകളി'ലെ നായികയെ നായകൻ സ്വീകരിച്ചതും അന്നത്തെ പ്രേക്ഷകർ അംഗീകരിച്ചതും എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. ഒരു ചെറിയ സംശയം തോന്നിയത് തൂവാനത്തുമ്പികൾ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിലാണ്. അതിൽ നായകന്റെ പക്കലാണ് നായികയുടെ കന്യകാത്വം നഷ്ടമാവുന്നത് എന്നത് സത്യമാണ്. അയാൾ പുരോഗമന വാദി അല്ല താനും. ആദ്യമായി അവൾ ശയിക്കുന്നത് നായകനൊപ്പം ആണ്. പക്ഷെ, താൻ കാരണമാണ് ആ പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ virginity നഷ്ടമായത് എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് കൂടിയല്ലേ ജയകൃഷ്ണൻ ക്ലാരയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാൻ താത്‌പര്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതും കൂടുതൽ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നതും? കഥ ആ വഴിക്ക് പോകേണ്ടത് കൊണ്ടല്ലേ അങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിട്ടുണ്ടാവുക. അല്ലാതെ ഏച്ചു കെട്ടിയ ഒരു രംഗമായി കാണിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി നായകന് മുന്നിൽ virginity നഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്ന സീൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതായി തോന്നിയില്ല. ഒരു പക്ഷേ പലരുടെ ഒപ്പം കഴിഞ്ഞ ശേഷമാണ് ക്ലാര ജയകൃഷ്ണന്റെ അടുത്തെത്തുന്നതെങ്കിൽ അങ്ങനെ ഒരു പ്രണയം ജയകൃഷ്ണന് ക്ലാരയോട് തോന്നിയാൽ പല പ്രേക്ഷകരും അന്നത്തെ കാലത്ത് അംഗീകരിക്കാൻ മടിച്ചേനെ എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു.

@@AryaAms well fit ആയ, സുന്ദരൻ ആയിരുന്നു വില്ലൻ. ഇന്റർവെൽ കഴിയുമ്പോൾ ഉള്ള ഗെറ്റപ്പ് ചേഞ്ച്‌ കൊണ്ടു പ്രേഷകരെ ഞെട്ടിക്കുന്ന ക്ളീഷേ നായകൻ ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല. പിന്നെ നായികയെ കെട്ടാൻ വന്നവനും സുന്ദരനും well fit conventional കോളേജ് പ്രൊഫസറും ആയിരുന്നു. പക്ഷെ അത്രയും ബുദ്ധിയോ സൗന്ദര്യമോ ഇല്ലാത്ത ആളെ തന്നെ central point ആക്കി കഥ കൊണ്ടുപോയ ഡയറക്ടർ അന്ന് കാണിച്ചതും ഒരു വിപ്ലവമാണെന്നാണ് തോന്നിയിട്ടുള്ളത്..!!

The character sunny(mohanlal) in manichithrathaazhu is a good example who didn't follow this trend of virginity. In the movie, they mention that sreedevi had to return from her husband's home after a few days of marriage when they came to know of 'chovvadosham'. The hero falls in love with her, and at the end ,sunny says he would send his mom to see her, adds that he doesn't believe in chovvadosham and he leaves , depicting there was no concern about this whole virginity drama. I was little when I watched this movie first and was surprised when the hero (first marriage) went for a divorcee . It didn't usually happen in movies. It was only later , I realised that we were fed with wrong ideas from our childhood.

In malayalam cinema there are two kinds of girls 1.'Bad girls' who date the hero for time pass or who dump the hero midway. They are 'modern' and bold. 2.'Good girls' ,who are the real heroines,who preserves virginity for the hero whom the hero finally ends up with and live happily with him ever after. NOBODY TALKED ABOUT "AVALUDE RAAVUKAL". This movie came even before namukk parkan munthitithoppukal. Those who have watched the movie will understand how revolutionary the topic it handled was. This movie is often portrayed as kind of b grade subject by people. But it actually talks about a girl who becomes a prostitute from very young age because of her life situations even before she realises that she is being used by others. She then chooses it as her option to win bread. In the end she finds love in a man and he marries her. Even his family happily accepts her. Those who have watched this will know what I am talking about.. I really felt the movie needed more discussions and projection.

exactly. the whole movie is so concentrated on showing how he keeps his hands and legs away from her. There's more to love than just being physical. I think he literally meant that "engaye vitto, angthaan irikke" and never grew up from the mindset of a teenage boy. the whole music and dop was subp, but the story felt cringy to me.

Minnaram is also a good example. I think you could've included "ennum eppozhum" where Mohanlal's character is actually "virgin" and Manju Warrior's character is a mother. It's a good turn considering these actors were the ones who acted in those stupid old movies and they are willing to bring change.

I totally agree Chechi. Movies influence people, especially the new gen as they are exposed to social media much more than the older gen. A movie like Varathan is a great example, which conveys that a woman should not give up her life but fight against the violence caused over her. I think Puthiya Niyamam also conveys a good message.
