As a Malaysian woman, we are not desperate to date western men or just any man. We have free education until high school and extremely cheap university fees. There are a lot of educated women who work in different industries like STEM, healthcare, and etc. We mainly date for long term goal that ends with marriage. We want to build functional family that will contribute to the society in the future. It’s just our cultures.

Housing, fuel and etc are still considered affordable for most Malaysians. It literally costs 0.4 USD/litre for RON95 fuel, around 8k USD for a brand new local Sedan. It costs around 300USD for a 2 bedroom apartment in the capital city. Our education is free until high school, public universities are extremely cheap and sometimes even fully sponsored for students that come from less fortunate families. Malaysia also offers free healthcare to its citizens or legal residents.

in malaysia people dont use their sexual preferences as their identity here is more conservative and nuclear family oriented morals, whatever sexual stuff we keep behind close doors, its private and not promoted in public. kids innocence is put in a higher priority than peoples political view or sexual desires. yes we do have lgbt here and they move like a normal person in a any society, but they dont boast about it. whatever they do behind close door is their own choice

10:40. On the topic of racism in Malaysia. I believe Malaysians, no matter from whatever major races there, do not generally condone racism. I believe you need to learn more abt this issue with a historical perspective. Here are some brief rundown on side issues that one might mistake for racism in Malaysia. 1) As a Peninsular Malaysian, I have the same fondness for Bornean Malaysian as I do my next door neighbor, no matter the race. The ill-feelings from Sabahans and Sarawakians, that you mistakenly take as racist treatment is from the poor socio-economic and political treatments from the federal government. I, for one, am 100% supportive for the need to give back to our fellow Malaysians in Sabah and Sarawak equitable share in developments and the economic pie. 2) Issue with migrant workers from Indonesia, Bangladesh, Myanmar etc. I really believe that Malaysians, especialy the Malays, are among the most tolerant and non-racist ppl on the planet. We generally don't care about your color, wealth and persuasions, as long as you are respectful of our sensitivities. We are always happy to share in what we have with others. We are actually very grateful to Indonesians who came to Malaysia legally and helped to make Malaysia a prosperous place. We say to our brothers and sisters from Indonesia Terima Kasih. As to the Bangladeshis and the Rohingyas, we were initially very pleased to extend our help to them by bringing them here to better their lives. However, after so many years, wih so many illegal immigrants from these countries subverting our way of life here, Malaysians are starting look at them negatively. We don't care what you look like, we care about what you do. Thanks.

I wouldn't call it racism but it is more towards anger, usually towards Bangladesh, Pakistan, Rohingyas people, racism is when you hate people for their skin colour and have prejudice towards them because of it, it is more anger because the nationalities I named, a lot of them came into Malaysia illegally, either by boats illegally or overstayed, not paying taxes, set up stalls illegally and selling stuffs, pretending to be sick and poor and getting free groceries from Malaysia government (Rohingyas), also a lot of them illegally brings in their family members and wives and give birth in Malaysia for free, they would arrived at hospitals and wanting to give birth, the hospitals have no choice but to accept as they are due to give birth, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Rohingyas people do this, all these uses a lot of nations money when these money could be helped towards the poor locals, these people are overpopulating Malaysia illegally and using the nation resources, I think the anger is justified and similar things are occurring in USA with the illegal immigrants using the nation resources and the citizens aren't happy with it. Of course the people who came in legally, people have no problems with them, even the nationalities I named. For Indonesians, people have no problems with them, a lot of them came in illegally and work illegally without passes too, but they are respectful people and rarely create issues, so the locals have no problems with them.

Racism in Malaysia that is on 'obvious level' is the institutional racism since it is laid out in our constitution - in a way to protect the rights of the 'people of the land'. Right or wrong is another story which I am not able to comprehend let alone voicing out as its the sensitive issues to talk about. Another type of racism is based on political movement to take advantage of whatever benefitted then, as in any part of the world, politic - blood sucking creature. On personal level, do not generalize us Malaysian because to each their own. Sometimes an outburst towards others who coincidentally belongs to different races seen as an act of racism without context - which unnecessary judgement for us to make. As for me myself a Malay. My best friend is Christian Bidayuh (a tribe from East Malaysia). My business partner is Christian Indian (Malaysian). My wife is Chinese Muslim. My in-laws are Chinese Buddhist. My daughters are just confused 😂 but they understood that we are all the same and the differences is just the way of life, be it cultural practice, religious beliefs and everything else up to a sleeping patterns, different, as we all are unique individuals who living among many other unique individuals... there shouldn't be any issue for those who look around, take a step back, and think. Its not worth it to pick one (i.e. race) of the many differences and exploiting it. If we are going to do it, why pick one? Go all they way from race to sleeping pattern, or else its a waste of time to 'venture' into trivial things just for that one particular differences. In fact, there are a lot more similarities than differences between us, so why bother on small differences.

The first paragraph isn't actually racism, it is called Indigenous rights, very much part of democracy. Even full democracy countries like USA, Australia, New Zealand have similar Indigenous rights for its indigenous people, where they get benefits in housing, educations and land. Of course indigenous people always have to fend off immigrant races who demand to have the same rights and have the indigenous rights abolished and called these rights as racism. In New Zealand, Australia too there are people dissatisfied with indigenous rights and wants it to be abolished.

@@TeleeFONE Interesting. I saw this comment by an Australian aboriginal person: Should Aborigines receive special treatment in Australia? No, As an Indigenous Australian (Dharug) myself. I have never supported/understood the Aboriginal Identification boxes within schools and the workplace. They are quite literally the definition of systemic special treatment. As a student whose Aboriginal mother doesn’t choose to tick the boxes, (Because she can, in fact, pay the FULL school fees as a single mum), It is an insult. These “identification” boxes imply two things. One that Indigenous Australians need extra asistance and can’t get in on their own merit. Two that Indigenous Australians are somehow always at a socio-economic disadvantage. These boxes sow division between Australians and actually uphold systems that allow preferential treatment on the basis of race or ethnicity. What is not very well known is that schools actually recieve separate funding on the basis of how many Indigenous students they currently hold. Shameful. This type of seperatism within the educational system isn’t alone, it is also within the housing sector which provides seperate “programs” for Indigenous Australians. In summary, there are proud indigenous people who disagreed with such divisive policy.

I've never experienced eateries serving bad or stale food. The health department is very strict about this. The owner will have his business license revoked or suspended if they receive any complaint from patrons of food outlets.

Ben the way u comments n seeing places not very common people have it. Most people like to have quick guide. That's why they go for the review mostly fr people outside of the country who has been visiting there. Normally when something bad happen to them they straight away comments n post to the social media. When u comments like that with some emotional going on that not a good one. U didn't thinking it's twice. We as Malaysian don't like to be compare with other countries especially our neighbors ( hot topic). We don't bother actually until certain level..😆😆. We don't care not many people want to visit here. If they want to come here , they are welcome. Then let's the country itself do the talk. We don't mind to be called not popular n underated county. We like to be staying like that be a hidden gem of South East Asia.. be happy n enjoy ur traveling life Ben.

Thank you for honest opinions. One thing everyone need to remember about women in Malaysia, they are not throw away diapers. Whatever it is we are not perfect, we are trying hard to be better human being, past, present & future. We stand what we believe, not just plain believe. For today we can see the example around the world when somebody got nothing to stand on, you know what I mean.

Oh no... there's not really clashing between East or West Malaysians😅😅😅😅😅😅. Just some culture differences. I'm an East Malaysian, a Bidayuh who stayed in KL for 20 years now. It's fine just, as usual, internet trolls from both side. For LGBT, there are some. My former housemate are transgender & I'm friends to a few. There's a few cases but most just minding their own business. They're not out OUT but among friends, even conservatives, there's not much of an issue. Just don't go full The 1975, then the government will make some noise. Hope, you'll continue to have good time here. 😊😊

Its common in our life to have a commitment and marriage before relationship it not just Asian thing it very common 50 years back before secular and sexual revolution. Malaysian lady usually are very commited to marriage because they dont want to become a public property and here born without legal marriage status parent will effect children later on both officially and socially. When you talks about NY its make sense these place whats freedom they got freedom, but how about morality? The US use to be a place that quite conservative not so long ago but you pay the price of your freedom. Now the country with most single parent (mother) in the world where children more likely to have free sex follows the parent, it create a circle of abuse, neglect and immorality. Also where are morality , dignity and human values put highly but times goes by everything must have a freedom, then humanity sofficate and now can identify as whatever they wants even as a tree. One can be gay in Malaysia but just dont fight with everyone just to be gay do it at your own premise do not sexualize our kids and the public with any sick agenda.

As for gays, gays are everywhere of course, even in Afghanistan. There are gays lives together freely in Malaysia, and quite visible in the entertainment industry. The key thing is don't flaunt it, no need big banners telling your preference. I've live here most of my life, not heard anyone charged by being gay here, not like what you hear in Uganda or Zimbabwe.
