I'm definitely used to hearing this song in italian and by Loretta Goggi and it's a huge fave "Che fretta c'era, maledetta primavera" ❤ It's kind of common for our parents (esp. People around their 60s or 70s) here in Argentina to remember fondly certain songs of some Italian artists (Domenico Modugno, Rita Pavone, Fred Bongusto, Gigliola Cinquetti, etc.) And it was rather common for some artists to sing in different languages. Correct, this is an Italian song, I believe that between the 80s and 90s many songs that were hits in Italy were recorded in Spanish and other languages like Portuguese due the fact that almost none of the Italian artist really dedicated time and energy to do the crossover to the Spanish market, but a few of them like Ricchi e Poveri, Lucio Dalla, Zucchero traveled to Mexico and LatinAmerica in general to promote their music and even record versions in Spanish and maybe also Portugese, and around those decades it was very easy to purchase the rights of those songs so it was a way to have an almost sure hit artists like Yuri, Emmanuel, Daniela Romo have hits that are basically Italian songs adapted to Spanish, there is even a strange case Emmanuel from Mexico and Franco (I think from Cuba) both recorded a song called "Toda La Vida" (Tutta La Vita / Lucio Dalla) basically because both in a way got the rights from Lucio and/or his recording label.

I'm from Mexico and it was extremely popular, as a matter of fact I discovered it was an Italian song many years after. I remember listening to it in the wee hours to keep me awake over the drawing board while studying architecture. I believe the orchestra is Mexican as are those any other covers recorded in Mexico, or I'd like to think so, I'll find out! This song is so well liked in Mexico that there are several covers with a younger singers!
