Nigeria is not Sudan where there is famine or in a war torn country but yet our children especially in the North are dying of malnutrition due to high cost of living, hunger and food shortages in Nigeria. Tinubu administration alongside state governments must wake up to this reality and take immediate action.
Professor Usman Yusuf, former Executive Secretary, National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS

The only president in Nigeria who was actively doing something about out of school children in the north, sending them to school with feeding, the same northern Nigeria, made sure he was pushed out amd brought in a northerner. The North and Nigeria should continue to enjoy the effect of their decision.

You are right. Herder-farmer crises and clashes are basically the cause of food scarcity, food inflation, insecurity, hunger and starvation ravaging Nigeria. Embrace ranching and stop open-grazing. Food crops and cash crops are being eaten by cows and cattle reared by the wicked, insensitive and murderous Fulanis.

@ray-df8bq Your comment is bigotted. When did you do the statistics to know that most Yorubas are keeping quiet? I don't know where you get your news from but everyone, including Yorubas are vocal about this crime scene you people call a country. And not just now, even before the election, have you heard of a little movement called the Obidient movement? I hope you know its roots are in Lagos. Also ask around the SW, especially students and educated under 35s, ask them who they voted for. Do we have bigots amongst us, absolutely, but surprise surprise, they are all over the country. At least the Yorubs bigots have an excuse. What excuses do the non-Yorubas that rigged for APC and still follow APC have?

The problem lies with the northern leaders all the states in the north allocated money in their budgets for the children The question is where is the money? The entire country cannot be blamed for the ineptitude of the northern governors. The revelation of what happened in kaduna is mind boggling blame the present and past northern governors for what is happening in the north. The Northern hatred for a particular ethnic group in Nigeria will continue to yield this negative fruits. If this prof is honest, tell the north to stop hating other ethnic groups and stop playing ethnic cards. Nigeria has most presidents from the north especially Fulani extraction. Yet, this is happening in the north for ages. The north should hold their leaders accountable. They are very wicked even unto themselves. How then do you expect these leaders to love and cherish other ethnic groups. Man’s inhumanity to man. I don’t blame those calling for division of Nigeria and regional governments. The evidence is glaring.

We need to restructure the country for better governance and better accountability, the North has always been backward and the insecurity was perpetuated by backward thinking. Buhari was cajoling with the bandits for 8 years and never did anything about them because he was the one who invited them. Nigeria will not get better because of the poor structure on which it is built. Nigeria is a country of many nations and the structure must reflect this otherwise what we have is state capture and Nigeria will never get better. So Mr. Professor go back and tell your people to agree with restructuring.

Just look at the way the journalist was trying to stop the Professor from showing the picture. It is very sad that when the truth is being shown to Nigerians, the journalist also try to defend the government. What a shame. Do you need to authenticate the picture when I can personally take you to many homes in Nigeria where children are dying from malnourishment.

If you understand the ethics of journalism, you'd know he was only doing his job. He has to make him confirm the source and the authenticity of such, don't forget there are monitoring/regulatory agencies, which are parastatals of the executive arm of governance.

Why are people dying of malnutrition in the north? Is it not the northern leaders that decided that it’s more important for them to a mass wealth and power them to take care of their own population they encourage their people to keep having babies they cannot take care of they encourage children to get married instead of going to school is enough of your complaining how many people have you helped? How many children have you sponsor in school how many people have you helped that hospital?

Prof, you have some of your brothers in the national assembly who claim that cows are citizens of Nigeria in 2024. cows should be given the same rights as humans. They are against ranching of cows and support movement of cows to destroy farm lands in the same North. Yet you want tinubu in Abuja to give your children food. Good luck to all those commenting well done to the prof.
