When a mama bear takes her dying cub to a fisherman, he is terrified to see her. But when she begs him to help her baby, a journey of compassion and cross-species understanding begins deep within the forest's embrace. Yes, I think what that man did was fantastic. Took a lot of courage to do what he did. I love nature and animals and I hope to think that if I was in that situation, I would’ve done exactly the same thing. Thank you for helping the baby cub and it’s mama. I know it must have taken a lot of courage to save the baby cub and especially when you had confronted those poachers.

I always carry a dog leash in my van to help rescue lost dogs. I own five cats. Saved a pregnant snake she and her babies did great in my garden. She would come back. So yes I do my best to save as many animals as I can.

Yes, I would do everything I could to save the baby cub. Lucas was brave to confront the poachers with their guns! So glad they were saved and wonderful the momma bear actually came back growling and scared them away! Thank God the poachers didn’t shoot ! 😮😮

Of course I would help a sick bear cub. my husband brought an infant opossum whose siblings had been crushed by an automobile. I discovered a vet who would provide medical assistance. under the care of the vet the opossum grew healthy and when it was time we released it close to the place my husband had found it. all it takes is love!

This was an awesome story! Yes, I would do anything I could to help an injured animal, no matter the circumstances. I would certainly take as much precautionary measures as possible, but I could never leave an injured animal alone. The poachers, however, should be left in the middle of a forest without any weapons and to see how they fare.

No disrespect, but you must have been a city dweller all your life, however long or short. Human's tend to forget or tend to think they are the only sentient animals ... Yes we are animals! No good/bad involved just animals. However I grew up with a many injured animals showing up in our backyard, from time to time, from small gophers, racoons, skunks, to large deers, bobcats, and mooses, etc. needing help. Even ponies and cows who seemed to be lost and had to be returned home, nearby. The key is you dropped fear and approached them calmly, they would let you know in their own way or you could see if there was an injury. Fortunately my father was a rancher and I was an innocent kid thinking I had acquired a new pet. Not to mention there was a nearby veterinarian if needed. By the way, I tried to keep the small animals, but they were too smart and left when they recovered.

As I work in a similar field, I couldn’t help wonder just exactly what “toxin” the critter was poisoned with as there are more than a few. Without blood/urine testing, what “anti-toxin” was infused, as the wrong anti-toxin could exacerbate the situation, giving a synergistic effect… while a good story, possibly true, there are enough hole to question it’s veracity. It’s quite humorous your critics assume your heartlessness while I would assume their brainlessness.

My mom could heal or tame any animal. Some people are just gifted. The Vet probably brought testing supplies when she came as these poisons would be common. Animals were tame around my mom even when wild normally. Growing up with my mom I don't doubt this story.

Yes I would! I’m taking care of a baby raccoon that was the only survivor after trees were bulldozed for highway construction. He’s weaned off the bottle now. What I’m working on getting him to eat solid foods. He is still very wild and I haven’t done anything to domesticate him. His next place is a rehab/rescue facility so he can learn to forage and do all things raccoons do. I’m so blessed to have gotten the chance to save him and raise him. I’m his imprinted Mom.

I've had a pelican come to me and pecked me on the back of my leg to get my attention then showed me his wing was tangled in fishing line and the hook stuck in his side. He remembered me from weeks earlier because I unhooked a lot of pelicans at a nearby park where people are always fishing. If a bird is that smart then bears can definitely be that smart. I've also encountered many bears up close in the wild and they're actually extremely intelligent.

@@leahmurray666 I would be extremely careful about donating to charities of any kind these days. Especially the ones who claim to help people. Most of them treat themselves to most of the money while using the people/animals as an excuse to call themselves a charity and get people to donate. I could go on for hours about all the "charities" I've seen that just scam people for money but don't actually do much for the cause other than buying themselves nice new cars and expensive homes.
