Man critically injured after he was hit by Kings Island roller coaster

In a statement, Kings Island said the man entered a restricted, fenced area at the Banshee around 8 p.m. and was "believed to have been struck by the ride." Mason police said the man had been trying to retrieve his lost keys. Witnesses said a person riding in the front row told them it sounded like they hit a deer at the time of the accident.

It was his error, going into a restricted area, jumping a five foot fence while the ride was in motion. Every choice that man made was wrong. Its not the parks fault that he chose to do what he did.

You are being TOO kind in your wording, I'm afraid... The word "error" infers he made an "ill-concieved or un-educated mistake". This man KNEW exactly what he was doing and out of "arrogance, stupidity or both", CHOSE to BLATANTLY disregard verbal and visual restrictions. IF and WHEN he recovers, he should go from hospital room to jail cell. Do not pass "go"! DO NOT collect one red cent!

What gets me is that every ride has a speaker system letting everyone in line know to NOT have loose items on the ride and that the park is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items. The park is not at fault. Dude was literally told time and again not to do the dumb thing, and he did it anyway. He paid a huge price because he didn’t follow the rules.

Geez! One of my friends lost his wallet with over a grand in it on a Kings Island coaster. They stop those rides for inspection every few hours and they told him when to come back and get his wallet. Easy-peasy!

@@nemesis8626 eh he felt entitled to do what ever he wants. why does kings island have an electrified fence around rides? did you hear about the guy who was shocked to critical condition when he went to investigate an object he said he saw while on a ride. The official told the guy to come back in 30 minutes, security was contacted but the visitor was unable to be found. a rider of the coaster indicated she heard a sound of someone "Yelping". the ride was shut down till the park could investigate the source- further details unknown but the ride "Banshee" never reopened. Though riders have stated that it was the best ride they have ever been on and continue to call the park dfaily for 2 years asking if it will be operational. The park indicated that due to safety concerns they were unable to open the ride and was informed by OSHA that other rides may close too. If strict safety policies are not enforced to limit loss of life. park goers have ceased to return to the park as the rides lines were too long and seemed that rides only ran every 10-15 minute increments. the park closed due to high price of security personnel. and park goers were refusing ticket rates that increased 6x in 2 years. thew Park is now abandoned and is called the Robert park after the last guy who disobeyed park rules, and died. The family was not available for comment.

This guy had no regard for his own safety. First of all, taking keys on an inverted coaster is against the rules. Then he broke further rules trespassing while the ride was running. The only finding here is that this guy should be charged with trespassing, if he lives.
