And my thinking too of it, is that there's so many of these accounts on Instagram etc that are actually changing their strategy, to be using pictures of more "average" looking people. This makes them more believable, so they could use some nobody from nowhere's pictures, and what if the victim could stumble across them in real life and possibly blame them

Unfortunately it goes with being an online influencer. You’ll get all kinds of harassment unfortunately. Coupled with encouragement as well. But, you’ll get your message across. Social media is a platform mostly. A place to air your agendas. Find like minded folks. Somewhere to showcase your talents. It’s incredibly difficult to patrol online users. This is really a case for stolen identities. That’s the essence of catfishing and scams! Misrepresentation. Deceit. Fraud. It’s becoming a job for law enforcement. That’s how horrific the scams are getting. But it’s an open forum usually. People can and will comment on videos. Cannot control much of it. Privatize yourself. But, if people were recognizing me at the gym. Or talking to me as if we were intimate, I’d pull my SM accounts. Just not sure that there’s anything worthy enough to weather identify theft and mistaken identity in action. But das me.

For real. I had a guy friend who had his photos stolen when were just teenagers and he started getting messages online from girls who thought they were dating him. It turned out a friend I had introduced him to stole his pics and created a fake profile (using his real first name too lol) and hitting up her friends and strangers...getting into relationships with "him." It was a damn mess. They would see his REAL profile and hit him up. He only met one out in the real world but it really scared him. So I cannot imagine having it happen irl over and over! Luckily she wasn't scamming anyone for money either. That adds another danger! What if they take it out on that person thinking it was them?? It was creepy enough just having these girls think they were with him. 😩

My opinion is he won't stop. He wants the attention he receives from younger attractive women, albeit fake profiles. The woman who came on line to identify herself as not the person he's been communicating with and having him say to her "You have a great body" was so inappropriate and insulting. He is delusional and lacks boundaries. He was cheating on his wife for almost the entire time they were married; his wife is better off without him. He has a very nice car, a daughter who cares about him, and a cute dog. He's putting everything at risk. I hope his daughter suggests he get some therapy to help him deal with his control and impulse issues.
