Thank you for joining us on this crazy journey! Our family- Kate and Marius plus our five kids, have always enjoyed living a homemade life whenever possible. Moving 1000 miles north in 2017 to Northern BC, Canada upped our game even more. We live on a 34 acre homestead and get a kick out of things like raising our own meat, dairy and vegetables. Theres plenty of failures, you’ll be sure to see those here too. We’re a homeschooling family who believes life is the best teacher but we do hit the books in winter. I’m so glad you’re here, I hope you stick around!

I love these milking routines, the boys do an excellent job, plus the little goat milking lady does excellent all on her own, how grown up is she, so lovely to watch.

Nice milking! You must be pretty close if you think baby would come when waiting to upload this video. Looking forward to seeing the new little one, and you look great! Grass season changes everything. We are SE US and are already mowing our goat pastures. They don’t keep up and are not keen on tall grasses.

Could you pretty please have Mack make a video on training to stand in an optimal position? My first-timer is 2 weeks fresh and this is what we're struggling with! She's not a kicker, just a shifter and stands wonky 🥴

For the ones complaining about the bathroom milk. Good thing ypu didn't offer them any milk!!! Someone always complaining about something!!! They'd really freak out if they saw most dairy operations!!!

Yes he is a full grown purebred dexter and he bred all three full size cows first try

Smart lady...planning out videos in advance then you dont have to worry about it when baby comes! (And dont have to announce it right away if you dont want to!)

What do u do when your not milking daily. Do freeze milk when your cows are dried up?

I freeze cream and yogurt but not milk i think frozen milk is meh

We just started milking down here in MO. My 17 year olds are training a first time heifer. It’s been a while since we had milk cows and we are struggling with flies. What do you use?

Yes we have. I did a video about it. It's super easy and the freeze dried milk is great

0:07 LOL at this point I really thought you had that cow in the basement .. as the milking containers go down the stairs. 😀 Also I never knew that in Canadian English you call 'giving birth' by a human woman "calving" as well. Interesting.
