Girl, I'm gonna cry! Thank you for this video!!! You have no idea how much I have shamed myself for continuously trying month after month to stay on budget but then losing some important meds i need to replace or forgetting I bought food last Thursday and figuring it out once I'm trying to reconcile at the end of the month! I had started to be very angry with myself and feel like i just couldn't do it. The cash envelope system my family recommended well..... unfortunately, I've ALWAYS been REALLY good at losing all types of paper LOL! I'm so excited to implement these tips for more motivation and feel some excitement and motivation about my budgeting!!! I went from thinking it could never work for me to believing I can do it, I just have to do it DIFFERENT and that's nothing to be ashamed of. THANK YOU!!!!

This is the first time I've ever cheered for a "this video is sponsored by" KZfaq ad, but Mint Mobile really is amazing. It's soooo much less expensive, and my ADHD brain only has to worry about paying the bill once a year! (I'm sure you can pay monthly if you want to, but the annual option really appealed to me. Fewer billing cycles to keep up with = huge win.) And yeah, the mindset shift from "I have a budget (noun)" to "I budget (verb)" is the key. YNAB has really helped me stop making wild predictions about future me's behavior and focus on what I'm doing with my money today and why.

HONESTLY - the make it into a game thing is so real. One thing I've been doing as well is putting money into a secondary account with a bank separate from my own that I forget about 75% of the time. I have a debit card for it and I think I've only used it once which makes me super proud.

🧠 Thank you so much for your videos! I just found you today..I've been trying to do (and feeling guilty about not being able to do) the Ramsey program since 2008😂 I have created some beautiful plans and budgets but they never make it more than a few weeks.. we have our own business which makes budgeting so difficult! Since the income is not totally predictable.. maybe there's hope for me yet..

Love your videos. I too have adhd and struggled for YEARS!!! my husband hates my impulse spending but because of your videos I am trying ynab x x only just started and need to pay my debt first but 🤞🏻 for me 😂 never realised you have adhd too! I’m not gonna lie, as you say with ADHD, i can’t plan for the future I want to spend it now

Right?! I STILL struggle with impulse spending! It's like I know I *should* save, but sometimes that motivation just isn't enough. Setting up systems that anticipate my impulse spending and lack of planning for the future has been life-changing😂

Lol, I loved YNAB when I first started with it. I miss how it was before they updated to monthly subscriptions. I still use YNAB4, but the phone app no longer works, and I will be so upset when my computer dies and I lose my access.
