The funny thing is, Real Madrid operate similarly a lot of the time, especially in the UCL. Flashes of individual brilliance capitalising on opponent mistakes is Ancelotti's bread and butter. The difference is that his tactics set up his players to utilise their strengths to the fullest, and he creates an environment that really let the world class talent he has at his disposal shine. Very strange season for Utd. Generally poor, but moments of brilliance. Worst injury crisis in decades, but very strong showing from youth players. A lot of character to win many games in the last minute, but very unlucky to have so many calls go against them. Ultimately, its not good enough but all things considered there are some strong positives. I suspect Ten Hag will do much better next season, especially considering the major structural changes occurring at the club.

Two things i think are worth mentioning that you didn't: 1- The left is also a weaker side due to Rashford unwillingness to track back 2- there's something rotten with our players mentality, the amount of time they stop to wave their arms calling for a foul, instead of getting back to formation is absurd, seems like a amateur side. There was a moment in the end where Maguire went to attack and he did that... HE'S THE CENTRE BACK AND DIDN'T RUN BACK TO WAVE HIS ARMS AND SCREAM AT THE REF!!!
