The Homegoing Celebration for Mandisa was held on Saturday April 27th. At the ceremony, her father explained what he believed caused her death. The ceremony was held at Brentwood Baptist Church in Nashville.

I am so glad Mandisa did not harm herself, it did not make sense and it was going to break my heart if that is what happened. I am so glad that Mandisa is with the Lord, she gets to live in Glory and sing with the Angels day and night. Such a sad situation, but Heaven is MUCH MORE rewarding.

Every morning for a year my kindergarten class danced to Good morning and Overcomer. She was their favorite and so I spent a year starting every single day of my life with Mandisa's encouragement and so did 17 little souls who are now teens. I just pray that she really didn't hurt herself because as we all know, suicide would not get her into Heaven no matter how much she loved God. I got to meet her at a concert in Knoxville TN. She was such a true soul. She showed God's love to all she meet. She will truly be missed. I really appreciated Mandisa's father's comments. I feel like they came right from his heart. I am in agreement with what he said about being United. The man tried to highlight that although parents were separated he was a good father to his daughter. When you listen to her songs there were some downtimes in her life hence the speculation re death are open. Broken homes can be devastating and she did speak about depression and overcoming it. Lovely songs. Never heard of her b4, just stumbled on her Memorial Service and searched her out. Great remembrance though had to try to make it cheerful.

I was thinking she bonked her head when she fell. I didn't even think of heart attack, #1 cause of death worldwide, according to my cardiologist. And I've had heart problems for 7 years. The media implied suicide, mentions her depression, so I'm glad her father clarified she did not harm herself. And how far away her phone was making it impossible to call for help. Yes, every breath, heartbeat and day of life is a gift. And any moment could be our last. I know Jesus picked her up off that floor and led her home hand in hand.
