In this video I hit the water chasing Jacks for the first time this season to get my casting going, hopefully find some warmer water and a Jack fight. It didn't happen this time round so I decided to share some ideas on what my approaches are this time of year. That first bone rattling bite isn't too far away. Thank you John I got my first jack first try on lures from watching you an to prove it more I got my second on the next trip 😁much appreciation you’r way👍🏼 Would be good to get ya on the boat one day if you ever want to hit Jumpinpin area’ish. I’ve got me spots that I’ve gotten them on baits which I been hitting with the lures.

Thank you for showing how to rig them spring things on the weedless hook i got some just havent tryed yet. Also zmans riggung them to it is alot harder but seen a clip about rigging them

John been using the megabass magdraft 5". had some success so far with a couple of 40cm jacks. also been using the jackall hank tune smash minnow 100 awesome. keep it up mate.

I am a conservationist. Not by choice, but I have had a few trips to Currumbin without success. No Mangrove Jack were caught or harmed by my actions. It is a great waterway. I do realise it is called fishing, NOT catching. Thanks for your videos. Very much appreciated.

John I just saw on Tacklewarehouse website in the US that Savage Gear have bought out those hooks, they're called Savage Gear Weedless Weighted Hook With Corkscrew

Always epic mate! Got my PB jack this year (55cm) and I attribute 100% of the tactical knowledge I've learned to your DVDs and uploads. Caught it on the YUM money minnow which I had never even considered using prior to following your content! Do you fish for Jew with artificials at all?

Hey John Paul from The Hook and The Cook mate got a couple questions mate where do you get the chin locks from. Also do you run mic on the go pro 7. I am running a 6 black but audio ordinary. Love to catch up for a fish if your ever up in Noosa for a calab or just a fish. Fully addicted to learning more about fishing up here only moved here for Sydney 4 years ago. Awesome vids mate. Cheers mate. Yeah I run a rode video mic externally with a dead cat to cut the wind. Makes a big diffetence but makes it subject to water. Just had one services after she drowned.

It’s about 300 each which might seem steep but what you end up with and enjoying is well worth it for the whole experience mate. It’s nuts
