Great interview. It’s such a relief to watch an interview with sensible questions. It shows the difference between print journalists vs “ you tube journalists”. For the KZfaqrs, please think beyond the Ajith, Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj questions. The world does not revolve around them.

Mani Sir, you should show the deleted scenes of PS 1 and PS2 in small screen or OTT, so that we can see those scenes also.

There are hundreds of talented directors in Tamil film industry. Maniratnam is not only outdated but also the most overrated director that made most failures in Tamil! See the way he took this masterpiece story into a repulsive trash! The Tamil social media hits him hard that PS2 already becomes a flop! Pitiful!

The only question this pineapple hasn't asked is Vijay oda eppa padam panna poringa.

PS-1 was CHAOS at its best! Wrong cast, Zero emotional connection, bad choice of music director, too many characters: half of them having no sense of Thamizh and the other half are merely proud that they are cast in a branded director's movie, and they all did door-to-door canvassing like gaining election votes by hook or crook; there were funny promos too - all for the sake of making it a "hit" just to collect $$$ at the box-office! I could not "feel" for any of the character given their lukewarm performances! WHERE IS THE ART OF CINEMA? Climax was meh unlike a Baahubali-1 where at least people had curiosity in knowing why Kattappaa slayed Baahubali with B2 being even better. MR's post-1991 movies are pure expensive fluff with high aesthetics: fair-skinned good-looking cast, stylish costumes, lavish sets, good cinematography, frame composition, color palettes, song picturization, so-called "richness" and little-to-very little-to-no content that capitalizes on touch-and-go-base on (faux) patriotism or "actual" history (e.g.: Dil Se, Bombay, Roja, PS; Iruvar being cloyingly artificial). All these channels, anchors, critics and film trackers seem to be well-PAID to go gaga for a big nothing-burger.

Watch Yaathisai to know what a good historical movie is. he did not even portray true history or greatness of Cholas
