Maybe it's that I don't follow the anime or manga, and just watch random KZfaq videos on the topic, but this seems to me to be one of the most powerful categories you can possibly be, if you create just 3 specific Hatsu: Manipulate your own body so you are eternally young and able to heal from ANY physical wound. Maybe add a time limit on how long it takes before you heal, if need be. Maybe even just make yourself never grow old & frail, to start with. Use the extra time you now have in order to develop another Hatsu, manipulating your biology so you have a freaking ton of Nen, like Meruem's biology does for him. Now strengthen your first Hatsu so you are unkillable. Use the extra time and mountain of Nen to make a third Hatsu, this time a mix of manipulation and enhancement, where you improve your own ability to learn, mastering anything you practice at twice the speed of someone else, so long as you actually do the practice. Build each of these Hatsu upon one another, where every year of practice makes the next year's practice send you even further. Mastery at twice the speed becomes mastery at 10 times the speed, becomes mastery at 100 times the speed, etc. Same for improving your body's natural Nen production/capacity, and making yourself harder and harder to kill. Repeat the process for as long as you want. Nen is life force. Manipulators can manipulate life. Thus, they can game the system, and create an upward spiral.

A dope ability would be to subtly manipulate other people's opinion of you so that you have no enemies. It would only be partial control so the nen restriction would be lower than shalnarks or illumi who have to actually stick someone with an antenna to activate it. I'm thinking a restriction similar to shinso from MHA who can mind control people if they start a conversation. It wouldn't be totally busted though since there are characters like pariston who enjoys hurting people he loves. It would be useless against monsters but that's not a huge problem if you have powerful allies

I would probably do something similar like Accelerator from Index and manipulate all Vectors. If you want the the abilities from Fullmetal Alchemist, the restriction of the equality exchange could work very well or that you have to draw circles when you want to use it.

Manipulate air you put Nen into. Speed, evasion, flight, etc. You just have to constantly fuel the air around you with Nen and manipulate it. You could flush concentrated wind at someone and blow their heads up. Or simply pressurize the air to create plasma attacks. You’re basically and overpowered Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

How cool would be to be able to manipulate matter, probabilities, time or maybe even manipulate vectors and forces like gravity, and manipulating other nen abilities, for example you make your enemy use his ability on something against his will, think about how broken it would be, like making hisoka use his bungee gum to wrap his arms and not letting him undoing it. Manipulation is so underrated because everyone thinks you can just people, but honestly manipulators are limitless like specialists and conjurers.

I took the HxH Nen personality quiz and got Manipulator, and I came up with basically what you said about creating Golems lol But instead of just ROCK Golems, I thought about Water and Fire as well. Just make a bunch of soldiers with the elements available around me.

I feel like you could do something similar to Law's devil fruit abilities in one piece. You use emission to create a zone then use manipulation to manipulate anything in that zone. It opens up a lot of variety for combat but can also be useful utility wise.

great video , but i have something i disagree with , chrollo sun and moon ability is not a manipulation ability , he only puts the signs of the bomb on them and then manipulates them with another ability ( order stamp) , what sun and moon does is basically make someone or something a bomb but it doesn't maniulate anything. If i had to classify it i think it would be an emission/transmutation ability because first it requires the person to separate nen from their body to plant to bomb on the target ( it's away from the person who cast the ability) and transmutation to make it explosive ( if it was pure emission it has to be pure aura ) , this is just my theory but i'm almost sure manipulation has nothing to do with it.

Initially when I thought of a manipulation ability I was thinking of “hacking” a person like in Ghost in the shell. But after watching this video I might change that to control the air around me or even water.

Lets be honest every special power comes from manipulation of some sort, so having manipulation *alone* as the root of your power on-top of everything else should simply make your potential more better than anyone else without core manipulation.

You can definitely use manipulation on yourself similar to enhancement. Just look at shalnark's super saiyan mode

The best manipulation would be one of your own conjurations. Like Blinky is hella OP. Or Tseidenreich’s King Crimson. Obv you’d have to be a conjurer first and a 60% manipulator but that’s better than having full control over some half assed nen beast. Shalnark’s was my favorite he could just one shot anybody.

What if one could manipulate time, but only inside of a small space. This space can be as large as their en. Anything that enters slows down or speeds up according to the control of the person. And that person can move normally inside (or maybe move faster and slower than whatever is inside too).

I thougt something like reviving someone or even yourself, but for that happend u must exchange other people life. The exchanged is more like u torture that peson till he, she or it desires and ask for u to kill him or her . Then when u kill, that person becomes a "contract" like a real paper contract , full of nem and made of it. Then when u or someone u don't want to die, u can use that contract tô revive or heal. Or u can even become temporality imortal, but after that "peirod" u can't use nem for a time determined proportional on the time u couldn't die or even how hard was keep u alive based on the damage u took.

I have 2 manipulation abilities. 1st is basically a advance form of Ikalgo ability and that bee girl ability. In stead I used a specific type of fly species I can control & see through. I can take advantage of a host nen if they died very recently & have their brain mostly in tack. Allowing me to control their corpse, mind and nen in most optimal situation. Flies ordinarily go to dead things, so I don't have to control them 24/7. I developed a swarm type hatsu for summoning/teleporting them & thing they cover if need. I killed myself to gain access to my corpse with flies & using post mortem nen to increase ability functios/effectiveness. (I know that requires strong feeling, but I think staying "alive" is a good one)

According to most pro nen tests i would be a manipulator in HxH world. Perhaps leaning to emitter. I would manipulate myself like Shalnark's autopilot to get powerboost. Maybe emit a shield for defense. Wish there was more MANLY and goodwilled manipulators in HxH, like Morel and Zushi :). Perhaps with the current Succession war arc we'll have those come to life.

You are wrong about the Sun and Moon ability, its actually a conjuration technique. Chrollo used another ability to control the copies of people in the Arena which is called Order Stamp which uses Conjuration and Manipulation techniques.

Took a few nen personality test afte Hisokas basic analysis I thought I would be a manipulator and based on these test I took all signs pointed to me being one that being said I think this is a very strong category if you think about it makes me sad that all we really seen in hxh is manipulating some animals and people and some other minor uses here and there but thinking and talking about it with my brother other than manipulating the elements I'm sure many people also thought of space and time but some other things people might not have thought of concepts such as probability manipulating it into your favor or even manipulating someone senses everything from depth perception to taking their sight away and throwing off sound making them hear nothing completely you can probably go as far as to use touch against them manipulating someone nervous system to make them feel pain that not there or intensify minor sensations

I had similar questions about Manipulation. Where is the line drawn? Could they manipulate the environment to fight with them (like the snake sages in naruto) or manipulate abstract ideas like gravity...or shadows like the nara clan. Conjure a room and manipulate its orientation like Nakime from demon slayer... or could they manipulate their own body beyond autopilot. Could they theoretically move organs around to avoid direct damage??? Where is the line drawn lol.

My Nen is very good I'm a manipulator hatsu user. Sadly do to someone else's jujutsu technique, I don't remember the name of my nen witch is extremely important for my nen. Oh well.
