Why would you put yourself greater than God. Those that exalt themselves will be abased. Don't forget why you wear that skull cap, a sign of humility before God. God does not need you otherwise he would not be omnipotent (which he is). God does use, love and care for his creations. God said in the Bible that he didn't need the Jews. If they would not worship him, he would just have the rocks of the earth do it. He doesn't need you, he will use you and care for you and all his creations though. To think otherwise is pure arrogance.

@@wechosenfew7622 Depends. Do you believe God is Omnipotent? If so your statement answered itself. The whole premise contradicts God's character. He loves us, but certainly doesn't need us. Or who stretched the line upon it? 6 To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, 7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? 8 "Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb; 9 When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band; 10 When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; 11 When I said, 'This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!' 12 "Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place, 13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it? 14 It takes on form like clay under a seal, And stands out like a garment. 15 From the wicked their light is withheld, And the upraised arm is broken. 16 "Have you entered the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in search of the depths? 17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death? 18 Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth?

According to your book, j-man says, all those who know the only true G-d are one with Him. He also recites Shema Israel, and says there is no other but He. If he said, he was one with G-d, This isn’t a declaration of divinity. It’s a declaration of unity, and every Jewish person can identify with it, because every Jewish person has a spark of G-d in them, and the Jewish people are connected and married to G-d and are 1 with Him. All of Israel is the son of G-d. “Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says HASHEM: “Israel is My son, My firstborn.” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭4‬:‭22‬ ‭

@ 3 mins in, he's already confused. God respects your free will. He will not force you to be with him. He made the offer, you not him rejected it. He's not going to force you to be with him in eternity when you don't even want to be with him now. It's a simple concept to understand. If a person has someone they love and that person rejects them, is it proper for that person to come groveling knowing that they'll do it in vain? Thats not love. Respecting that other person's decision is love. Love cannot be forced nor coerced. Let that person go and move on. That is exactly what God does to those who reject him. He respects their free will and lets them be. The door is open if that person decides to come to him, but he will not force it.

Exactly my feelings about giving my son away to become such an unwanted friend and rejected by all, while instructing him to be a gentleman and kind to all who despise him. As a father, I would be afraid they'd defile my most faithful and believing Son who by birth was a Bastard since his dad wasn't his dad! He felt the errs/errors of each and everyone of us taking on our very own afflictions, nature, and susceptibility, and ignored the pain, temptation, and sensations (to self-mutilate Himself) he refused to surrender to; and to instead dismiss, while still being our friend in the conflict w/in us who hear Him. Yeah, He weeps alone because of our absence. He wanted to help us out of our personal troubles and show you someone understands enough to let you know He's with you when everyone else rejects you, or derails you. And to gently nudge you with dreams, messages, and a stirring in your heart to abandon the Tyrannies of man, and to go by faith that no name under the Sun has disqualified you as the Spirit-filled gust that causes you to depart from the Contempt for you will not bow down and plead damnation on your soul, before a friend in your mirrored self-wrath of disappointment and constant self-analysis. Unless you're a boot-licker and prefer to be dictated everything.. I guess it's a miracle if someone loves you without a demand of proof about your loyalty. It was HIS loyalty accredited to your ability to come at the hour of 5pm rather than 7am, with the abundance of glory measured by how empty your own Cup was, to receive this Passion.

@peninagreenspan9878
@peninagreenspan9878 10 ай бұрын
He uses the phrase "practicing Christianity " rather than "was a Christian " because according to Jewish law, in the eyes of G-d a Jew remains a Jew even if he "converts". The 613 commandments were not given to prove they can't be kept. They were given with precise instruction and with the promise of reward and punishment. G-d does not lie, nor does he play games. He means what He says. We don't need to be "saved"; we need to live up to our mission in life, which is to seek out G-d in our lives and connect with Him with Him with live and awe by fulfilling His will. For Jews this is the 613 commandments, for non-Jews this is the 7 Noachide Laws. Unlike other religions, Judaism teaches that you have a place in Heaven even if you are not Jewish, as long as you keep the 7 Noachide Laws. Judaism is not for everybody, but G-d's love is there for all who love Him. G-d's "vulnerability" is that He leaves it up to us to excersize our free will (a gift from Him) to decide whether we want to pursue a relationship with Him (which He wants). Certainly G-d showers us with love and compassion all the time, even when in hard times, but it's up to us to recognize it. He wants a connection with us, it's why He made us, but He doesn't force it on us. This chosen vulnerability does not detract one iota from His Supremacy. Only the Almighty Timeless Master of all has the ability to be so vulnerable with the assurance to ultimately have what He seeks.

@TheSeptuagint Talmud is the oral part of the Torah. As an emergency measure at the beginning of our current exile, it was written in an abbreviated way, so as to retain it while still requiring the personal, teacher student mode of transmission. Without the Oral Law, the meaning and intent of the Written Law (what Christians call the "Old" Testament) cannot be properly understood. For example, in the Written Law, there is a commandment to use phylacteries, but the Oral Law is where there is a description of what they are.

There are some very questionable sayings hidden in the Talmudic writings which are massive in volume. We can form no opinions without a wealth of knowledge that would take years to amass. These are Rabbinical opinions formed and written during the Babylonian captivity. (The Babylonian Talmud). What is their significance to today's Judaic practices and belief system? This is a complicated subject whereas Christianity is mostly a matter of dogma and faith. Can Judaic faith be stated simply?

I don’t understand why he is saying no one cares if you are perfect. The whole point of the law was to call humanity toward perfection and holiness so that we can be with him once again instead of separated from him by sin. God cares about us being perfected because if we aren’t we can not be with him, we will die in his presence without being purified in perfection, through atonement, through a heart that is for him and his law. I’m not Jewish but I thought this is a basic understanding of the function of the law, and he seems to be undermining it with his statements

Cool! I will gladly choose hell over your god. Why would I want to spend an eternity with a being whose plan to save the world includes torturing and executing a virgin and then asking me to drink his blood? Abortion is such a merciful act! The babies never have to choose and get to go to heaven! If they grew up some of them would not choose to be with your god and live eternity in torment. After all, we never chose to be here. Is there freewill in Hell? If so can all us hellions decide to come together and make a place that is much better than this world or heaven? Apparently,, there is freewill in Heaven because a third of the Angels (demons) revolted. You think they were on to something? If your god is so wonderful why would a third of the angels that are in his presence decide to turn against him/her knowing that they can't win? Did god just create them that rebellious? Hmmmmm.... I am Christian and can only speak from that point-of-view, but to me G-d would not want us to be rude to each other. In the New Text, it says to respect the Jewish people because they are the roots and Christians are the branches. And, that the branches cannot survive without the roots. The Jewish nation was anointed to bring the knowledge of G-d into this world and everyone should respect them for that. At the end of Deuteronomy it's specifically outlines for the Jewish people to not follow prophets that speak against his word. It goes on further to say that that prophet Shall surely die. What about the story of the Tower of Babel that is found in the book of Genesis in the Torah, specifically in Genesis 11:1-9. According to the story, the people of the earth, who all spoke one language, gathered in the land of Shinar (Babylonia) and decided to build a city with a tower that would reach the heavens. They wanted to make a name for themselves and prevent their dispersal across the earth. Did The Lord come down to see the city and the tower the people were building? In Isaiah 53, who is referred to as the "Suffering Servant"? In Genesis 18, three men (understood to be angels) visit Abraham, and he extends hospitality to them. Similarly, in Genesis 32, Jacob wrestles with a man who is later revealed to be an angel. Were they in human form and were they angels ? Since you say your Christian man just so you know, the idea of an all loving God that allows humanity to choose destruction and the path to death is not something the Jews don’t have to contend with. In Deuteronomy God says “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” The Psalms also speak of how God is with us in both our calamity, whether self inflicted or not, as well as in our triumphs. The Christian knows God loves us and doesn’t wish to send any of us to Hell, and is still in agony over any of us that did unfortunately end up there. And vulnerability, God was personally tortured and suffered death for us so that we might live free from sin. He lived a life of humility and agony for our sake, without any of us earning it.

Seeing how God and God alone determines what is good bad flawed or perfect . God in and of himself is quite incapable of being flawed or vulnerable. A God that is flawed is not worth worshiping. Therefore, the God of Abraham can only be an all powerful all-knowing and an invulnerable God. I still love hearing your voice, Rabbi. Because many would consider God’s being both loving and compassionate towards others as vulnerabilities and flaws. Entering into a loving relationship with someone else comes with very real risks. They might turn on you and reject you at any time. You might show compassion, and someone might take advantage of you for doing that. If God loves us this means he is vulnerable, imagine a vulnerable God? vulnerability is the quality of being easily hurt or attacked. for how long the humanity has bee hostile and transgressed since the existence of the earth. God has a lot of patience and he doesn't get hurt easily otherwise he would have buried alive George Bush, Tony Blair and their clan when they went caused destruction and death in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lybia...etc Again, this Rabbi is comparing the love of God toward his creation, to the love of humans toward others or objects they create or already created by God, God is self-sufficient, all-knowing, all-hearing and all-powerful therefore he doesn't need us, we need him badly especially these horrible times we live in where the wrong became right and the right became wrong. God loves the one who loves him, he loves the one who wants to sincerely connect with him, who doesn't associate any partner with him, who doesn't abuse his other creation. God loves the one who struggles to perfect his character, the one who serves other creation of god. God knows humanity he created like the back of his hand[metaphorically], he knows who is the sincere and who is the insincere so he won't get shocked when the insincere turns his back on God.

I have Jewish heritage in my lineage, I am a Christian and raised as such, I believe in G*d's vulnerability. He said you will have no other gods before me, He gets jealous, he can be grieved, provoked to anger slow or not, we can move the hand of god and minister to his spirit... We are created in his image, and the many aspects of God, we are the reflection of Him. He is a family man, He needs people to participate, and when we don't he looks for a willing vessels. Shalom

You seriously think you need to quote pieces of the Torah to us? To a rabbi? What does that prove for you? We've spent over 3335 years studying it, dissecting it, to know intimate levels of G-d's words, not the simplicity of them. No, G-d does not 'look for other vessels'. A relationship with G-d is complex, sometimes distant, sometimes intimately close. It is never, never, "abandoned". He has not "given up" on us, Jews, either. Moshiach is coming to finish the preparation for this world to be perfected for G-d to dwell here with us. Here. Not in heaven.

I'm a Jew who likes your post. In Judaism beliefs don't matter as much as your actions as part of your community. I was raised atheist Jewish. My dad was devout till the Holocaust. He would be 110 if he were alive today. Since some parts of Judaism see history as an expression of G-d's will, a lot of Jews who were adult during WW2 became atheist from that trauma. Ironically my return to Kabbalic beliefs started with participation in Native American ceremonies in my 30s. My atheism began cracking when I became a camping nut in my 20s & I had mystical experiences in nature. My own belief is that if your religion gives you compassion & courage & a sense of responsibility, you please G-d, no matter what religion you believe in.

The first part of this Quote is sums up my view of Christianity and what the Rabbi's words reminded me of. The second part sums up my perspective of religious leaders who make themselves rich on the backs of their followers. “Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!” ― George Carlin

@@jessedylan6162 What is greater love than dying for those you love? Zechariah 12:10 Mourning for the One They Pierced 10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. Isaiah 53 53 Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. 4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. 9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. 11 After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

His argument falls down when he said God needed the tribes and took them out of Egypt as the chosen people. That implies that God doesn’t care about the tribes left behind. God created all and cares for all whether good or bad. God understands the fallibility of mankind which brings us back to the first statement that was used to try and understand Christianity and the love of all. God loves and understands us despite our fallibility. God might not be happy with us at all times, but that is exactly the imperfection that makes the love pure. This breaks the argument that Christians do not understand the love of God. You can get angry at your children at times, but it doesn’t break the bond of love or contradict it, God was angry at Adam & Eve, but didn’t not totally abandon them or God would not still be a part of human society.

People who dismiss religions, for all the human baggage that goes with them, trust that somehow their instincts will guide them into truth. Subjective feelings and impressions are only good when they work with the framework of knowledge of the spiritual realm that religious truth provides. Some things cannot be learned through deduction, reflection, observation---which all can be distorted as much or more than religion---but religion has the weight of not only a large group of people scrutinizing and vetting the ideas and often has mass eyewitness testimony of supernatural/miraculous/inexplicable abnormal occurences. Study the whole e Bible---because it is full of historically verified supernatural events---meaning there were many eyewitnesses at the time of the events and people who meticulously preserved/recorded these accounts through the oral transmission and written Scriptures. This is what "history" is: eyewitness accounts of events recorded and handed down to people living in later generations. ~C

@@Jesus2di4U I also felt that the description given of my christian faith was not fully fair. I didn´t recognize what he described as my faith at all.

What I find amazing is the person who could not be a Christian because God is not vulnerable because you go to hell when you deny him in Christianity, is that not the same in Judaism? Isn't that exactly what happened when Moses came down from the mountain and found the golden calf. Isn't that what happened when God sent the plagues to hurt the Egyptians who were also God's children?

I respect your opinion and I am a subscriber but God doesn't send anyone who rejects Him to hell. I disagree with you here and he had to send someone to take the sins because he is just and does not want to kill , wages of sin are death.

Why would God punish an innocent person for the sins of the guilty? The whole God came down and inhabited a man brings up another question. Why would God commit suicide? And why would God have to give up an innocent man for the sins of the guilty so Michael when God tells you himself all you have to do is ask and repent? In about the wages of sin being that that comes off a Matthew or Luka one of them other fake stories. Who you going to believe the Tanakh or a Roman god?
