(Edit 02/22) Bare in mind these openings are roughly a gold rank standard (my rank at the time) I plan on remaking these at some point with my new preferred openings as a platinum player.
My standard opening moves as Japan.

Has the philosophy for Japan changed to 'charge Moscow' now and just ship troops thru Yunnan (ensuring you hold Yun/FIC)? Perhaps an IC J3 in Manchuria in this case?

Hey Manix. Great vids! I bought the game after watching your content. Two quick questions: 1) How do you perform amphibious assaults? I can't figure out how to load troops, move the transport and then assault the land with those troops in the same turn. 2) Is there a way to automate combats so I don't have to constantly press, ROLL, CONTINUE, ROLL, CONTINUE? Thanks for the help. Keep the vids coming!

Hi Ryan, thanks for the comment. Glad to hear you got the game! So amphibious assaults, on the combat move phase - left click a free transport, then right click on the troops you want moving (can't be two tanks or two art) 2 inf or 1 inf and a tank etc. Once they are loaded the regions they can be dropped on in will be highlighted in red - right click to assault. With combat, I dont think they can be fully automated, to speed the battles up - on the battle screen in the bottom left corner there are two options you can select, one to get rid of the dice animations and also another to assign hits from the defence profile. This will let you steam through quickly if you want to. Just be careful not to always rush through them though as sometimes you may want to retreat from a battle early if the dice arent going your way. Hope that helps :)

@@manix429 thanks for the fast reply. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I move the transport, pick up the troops, and then I'm stuck there even though I have a move left with the transport. No area is highlighted land or sea whether I click on the transport or the units. I've been struggling with it for over an hour and then I watched you execute it effortlessly in this video.

@@ryancparker It can be a bit awkward to get used to I admit. Make sure you are clicking with the correct buttons as described above - also if you are having trouble selecting individual units, I'd recommend zooming in and trying it. Selecting the units can sometimes be a bit of a pain. The tutorial in the game covers amphibious assault too so that may be able to help

@@manix429 I've isolated the problem to transports that move 1 or 2 sea spaces before I pick up troops. Transports that don't move and pick up troops will conduct an amphibious assault correctly, but transports that have already moved (like the move you performed at 4:25) simply won't recognize my right clicks no matter what I do.
