Manta5 Hydrofoiler XE-1 is the world's first water-bike that replicates the cycling experience, on water. The XE-1 all terrain hydrofoil bike can cruise through choppy waters, carve up oceans and relax on the river.
The Hydrofoiler has been in production for seven years and went through seven prototypes before Manta5 arrived at the finished product.
The carbon-fiber reinforced nylon propeller produces thrust at low speeds and reduces drag at top speed powered by a lithium ion battery that lasts up to an hour of ride time this battery can be easily removed and charged from a standard outlet which takes about five hours an onboard heads-up display shows battery level distance and speed which caps out at 13 miles per hour or 21 kilometers per hour propelled by a 460 watt brushless ebike motor three levels of assistance are available to the rider.
You can ride on oceans, rivers and lakes, handling moderate chop and swell. The front tiller section of the Hydrofoiler self-levels and help to punch through chop and over swell as you ride.
Bike Material Details:
Strengthened carbon fibre which is set with high performance epoxies (front and rear hydrofoils)
Aircraft grade TIG welded 606-T6 aluminium (frame)
Vacuum formed ASA plastic (buoyancy modules)
All fixtures have been designed and made to avoid corrosion.
Price = $8,990.00 as of 12/3/22 on their website
Thanks for watching.

★★★ *FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VIDEO / FACT UPDATES* ★★★ *1) If you stop peddling you sink and drown* - For all those people who think this, you clearly did not watch the video, the bike floats, and most of the time when you start off riding the bike you will be in deep enough water to get going, you simply hop on the bike while it's underwater and start peddling and you come to the surface, like it was shown in the video. Plus the only way you would drown is if you can't swim in the first place. *2) If it's an e-bike why do they have to pedal?* - I know American have e-bikes like scooters, just twist the throttle and go, but in some countries e-bikes can only be Pedal Assist, which means the motor does nothing unless you are pedalling first.

@@mrmikojo5738 I have an mountain e-bike and no matter the hill or terrain while it is assisting you, riding is as smooth as silk and very easy. as i joke to my friends, realistically speaking you are only there to steer and keep the cranks visually rotating, you are hardly putting in any effort. Oh sure you can make it harder on yourself, a lower gear, less assisting, I usually have it set to 100% assist, put it at 75% or 50% and now you are starting to ride with effort.

There is a guy in San Diego who had bought a bunch of these and was renting them out for day use. The problem was he was investing so much time trying to teach people how to ride them. He got wise and put a radio controlled submarine with a shark fin on it and a lot of people figured out how to get on top of the water really quick after that. None of them figured out how to ride the bike but it was fun to watch anyways.😂

Windsurfer user here. Love the concept but I have that same reaction I did with kite surfing: When you get tired or something goes wrong, you're fully in the water. At least on most windsurfers you've got something to keep you out of the water. I wouldn't cross a big lake on this thing. But I do wonder how it would go surfing long, low waves like the foil surfers can do. Maybe a pusher prop with folding blades...

I think a lot of these penny pinching whiners are completely missing the point here. This isn't a bicycle, it isn't a toy, and it isn't meant for everyone. This is a niche, proof of concept, luxury item. Lots of small companies pop up like this one and build expensive products on the cutting edge of current technology, and they get funding not because people think they will sell a million water bikes... it's because they're interested in something else. One company that invested might be interested in water proof electronics, or another might be interested in complex shape forming with carbon fiber. The companies funding these projects don't see a fancy water bike, they see a potential solution to problem they have and a company that can fix it. Once it comes to sales, they just care about making the money back that they put in, and selling a luxury item like this almost always makes money. It's a status symbol, and people will buy 3 just so they can brag about it on Facebook so people know how rich they are. If you're whining about the price, that means this product isn't even meant for you... they don't even want to advertise to you. That's how these companies work. Everything from water jetpacks, dolphin submarines, or compact paragliders... they aren't meant for you. Unless you have some spare room on your second yacht to keep them in.

QUOTE - "There is always a sucker who would pay 9K for a days fun. Maybe only in summer." Not a day's fun. One hour. They CLAIM the battery, when brand new, is good for one hour. I'm sure that's optimistic. Then it's FIVE hours to recharge. At the end of the summer, the battery will only be good for a half hour, and a replacement will cost $2000. Those batteries are expensive, and really lose performance fairly quickly.

That's my main concern. There's no flotation at all. So if you run out of power the weight of the product takes you down, down, down. They need some kind of flotation feature you can chill in the water when taking a break. It has potential but this product is still needing some important features.

@Movieman1965

@@Graeme_Lastname IF it could float on water they wouldn't show it under water when the user has to crank/propel it to gain lift and slowly climb up. I have seen some more practical designs here on YT. Don't get me wrong, I believe a lot of great engineering went into this. But, I believe the average person doesn't want this to start down in the water. See the video again. There is not one above water start. Anyway, I like the idea, but if I wanted to buy say 10 units and rent these at a beach resort I doubt the under water starts is a feature many would like.
