Are You A Swinger or A Chopper? Chopping comes from hitting at the ball. Swingers hit through the hitting area. If tend to chop and not swing the golf club. Manuel de la Torre changed my golf life for the better. Always been handy in the sand (even before Manny) and usually use a wedge with bounce- but played a 5-iron out of a shallow greenside bunker to just a few feet from the pin yesterday. It was glorious. I was playing one-clubbed with vintage tour-blade Wilson 5i. I'm in my second year of swinging as Manuel teaches. It's great.

Wonderful tip! I used to go after the ball hard with my right hand creating a steep cut right behind the ball...I like Manuel's way much better.
