I was always focused on hitting the ball instead of just swinging the club. Thank you for the lesson and changing my thinking, golf just got so much easier mentally.

Changed my golf life in just a few weeks. I love my swing now. Can't get enough of it. My accuracy is phenomenal now. Thanks to Manuel and everyone who promotes his way of swinging the club. This way is so much less work, with WAY more success-win win.

Hi...did you get any lessons? Or did you learn from these videos? Did you buy Manuel's book? I ask as I too, really like Manuel's Teachings. Thanks for any correspondence.

@@norman-gregory It's still golf, but I'm doing way less "wondering" what went wrong, and more hitting the targets. I'm about to re-read the book to see what I missed the first time-and to bolster my fullest understanding of his teachings. I've seen most of the youtubes of Manuel multiples of times. This will be my first season keeping scores for handicap as I just started back late last Summer after three decades off. It's thrilling and it's golf-there will be some bad shots/bounces and chips, but the good ones. They're really good. My alignment alone has dramatically improved. Pre-shot routine is where all the thinking happens, then it's step up, with alignment, confirm, and swing!

@@wadepatton2433... Your time away...is similar to mine. Nearly 35 years. I am ONLY interested because of Earnest/ Angel and Manuel's teachings...I would not be interested in golf otherwise!!! I get the feeling you're doing alot of this on your own, with the aids of other's whom have videos, and Manuel's book! Kudos to you Wade! I have Manuel's/John Hayes book on order. Your comments sound positive, and helps invigorate those whom are trying to absorb Manuel's methods! Thanks for replying. Appreciate your time..."keep in the short grass". ps... If you ever feel like letting us know how your game is going on the course, and how your progressing? Always good to hear! Cheers from Australia.

@@norman-gregory Yes, I swing a club nearly every single day. I've not had the luxury of instruction, but I did look for folks in the area who were familiar with Torre's method and none do. They all want fittings and fancy clubs. I'm happy to hit great shots with the bland old equipment used by all the best in the 1980's or earlier. Hope to string together a bunch of good shots sometime this season. Things are getting greener here each day.

@@wadepatton2433... Thanks Wade for replying and I like to hear from fellow Manuel devotees!!! I'm seriously considering Henry-Griffitts clubs to be fitted...but I see you are playing/swinging with clubs not fitted! Do yo believe that our swing can meld with the clubs we use regularly (not forgetting that they might not be correct also/but we keep using them)? I see many "pros" for being fitted!!! Good golfing friend. ps...I hear what your saying about "no folks in your area"...you did mention earlier, that you have come across on You tube...most of the Teacher's/videos relating to Manuel's/Ernest teachings. Plus Manuel's book. Sounds like you're in the groove/swing and feeling good. As you know Wade...there's always skype/ lessons from those whom you know about on the internet (I feel a bit silly saying that, you know this already). Also email addresses, to ask questions!!! Your always welcome to comment and talk about Golf, and Manuel's teachings, and your progression, if you like. Okay... "Keep in the short Grass"

Ernest Jones was advanced for his time although I would say it wasn't advanced at all, just natural. The de la Torre's took what Mr Jones taught them and blew it up to be more amazing than it had been. Ernest Jones took adversity and turned it into something that has helped golfers to this day and many more going forward thanks to Manuel and his dad. Even when the pga discouraged Ernest and the de la Torre's. Amazing instructors...

Best swing ever, without ever hitting a ball . He just shows that copying others swing is not the answer to learning what your body swing motion is , to start at the balanced point is the key.

I question his belief that the club returns to the same angle at impact. If you swing the weight of the club head, the body will always start the downswing in order to use the momentum of the club head. This will cause lag and the shaft leaning forward at impact. Also, the swing isn’t a circle. It’s two circles due to the natural weight shift.
@robsaxepga
@robsaxepga 2 жыл бұрын
@@blue24563 although I've heard other pros teaching the clubshaft back to the address position who follow what Manuel is saying. I don't think that's what he meant. I don't think that's in his book. You don't get to be as good a player as he was and not have forward shaft lean. I'll look though. As for the circle, if a player's definition of weight shift is moving off the ball then no their swing won't be a circle but if the weight stays centered to mid downswing, I as most good players do, you'll have a circle as long as the arms extend through impact.
@blue24563
@blue24563 2 жыл бұрын
@@robsaxepga Yes, he probably means how it feels rather than how it looks. But your weight doesn’t stay centred. It moves forward in the downswing because you have to do that to be able to feel the weight of the club head and swing it through. The second circle is therefore just inside the first.
@robsaxepga
@robsaxepga 2 жыл бұрын
@@blue24563 I said the weight is centered to mid downswing. After that, yes it goes hard to the left foot. If you're transferring weight from the top you're dead. Without leaving the weight on the back foot to start the downswing, the sit down position isn't possible. I don't transfer any weight back and stay centered until as late as I can to be able to vertical drop my hands and arms and swing toward the target. If I transfer to the left to early I lose speed and path.

I think John Wright would disagree with his open stance definition. Wright says both feet move around the ball to set up open, so the ball position doesn’t change between the feet, which face the open line - not the target line.

Because Manuel understood that the MIND is our biggest impediment to regularly repeatable golf swings. I'm still getting over it, but am in FULL agreement with MDLT now. I never stare at the ball and think thoughts now. I get all my thinking done before I set up, and then simply swing to that target and watch it FLY!!!

Positions are static, swing is dynamic. Manuel could not be a more fantastic teacher to those of us who are willing to listen. I only came to him when my conventional golf blew up on me and I was searching for answers. I never dreamed I'd find such a complete, easy, and wonderful solution to 90% of my golf problems. The other 10% is having time to play! LOVE my new swing.

I wish Manuel had done these without the group sitting there. Too many questions that keep interfering in the train of Manuel's presentation. Teaching in a group is monetarily better for the instructor but poorer in understanding for the individual student. The group always has to wait for the slowest student to catch up. If this were teaching, "How to Fire a Shotgun", Manuel would have lost half of his ass by the 5 minute mark.

Driver from the middle of my stance didn’t work at all for me. None of the longer clubs for that matter. Ben Hogan’s method of gradually moving the ball forward as the clubs get longer is more conventional.
@ryandavidtrapasso
@ryandavidtrapasso 2 жыл бұрын
The driver HEAD goes in the middle of the stance which will move the ball a bit forward compared to irons for example, since modern drivers are larger than in the past. Ball position does move slightly because of the varying head sizes of the golf clubs. Manuel was all about purposeful intent. I use fairway woods all the way to an 11 wood and so the ball position ends up being a bit forward compared to my 6 iron on down.
