This product seems to be aimed squarely at the Bluesound Powernode in terms of features and pricing. Lack of Qobuz and Roon support are material considerations for me. Sound quality is also key, however, and Marantz _may_ have the superior product in this respect. I'd like to see a head-to-head review of the Marantz M1 against the Bluesound Powernode.

Looks like a nice product for a bedroom, office or other zone 2 applications. when used with other HEOS product in the house, like a Denon/Marantz AV receiver.

So interesting. Thank you. Yamaha r-n1000a, to me, still seems like the best entry-level option (design, physical controls, remote, phono in, ... I don't see A/B class vs D class as a plus at this price point), but I love to see more and more ARC/eARC equipped 2.1 integrated amplifiers.

I use my older receivers for this purpose. Still have my first Yamaha 5.1 from 1998 running 2x pairs stereo speakers and an appleTV as the streamer. Nice product though.

For TV & audio setup (a lot online): Stereo 70 or M1? Both would be with B&W 606 speaker (no sub). + some heos speakers in the house. I was in the market for the Stereo 70, but this M1 seems to be an amazing alternative. same pricerange as well. Thoughts?

@@AudioAdviceSo I just realized one thing the Martin Logan Forte has is ARC. It came with a USB ARC MIC so the sound can be turned to your room. Did the Marantz M1 come with Audyssey? I think room correction is a big selling point for some folks who buy AVR’s for Music.

It doesn’t support Tidal Connect at the moment. John Darko reports this functionality will be added in a future software update.

Nice, but no pre-amp mode for those, that would like to use it with their existing amps. Denon / Marantz are also reluctant to provide modern OLED display, like recently introduced Wiim Ultra. This is specifically to those, that love Marantz sound and need some secondary device to the smaller room.

I feel like this is more of a competitor to the Bluesound Powernode and not the Wiim Amp. I use the Powernode in my bedroom and it sounds pretty good but I'm betting this amp does sound "better" in a lot of ways, especially if it doesn't "digitize" the analog inputs. I wish I could do a head to head comparison but $1000 is a lot to shell out for that.

You're right. It is better to compare to the Powernode. It does have a few extra features than a Powernode and ultimately sounds warmer and more musical. But yes, it will cost you a few extra bucks. Thanks for watching!

Looks exactly like a pricer WIIM? Since it's has an amplifier and you say its different, where's the HT Bypass?? It is an amplifier after all. . I also would have preferred a touch screen, but i guess that's what the C700 is for??

This looks great but it’s very confusing having this and the stereo 70. The 70 is meant to be a 2 channel home theatre but can’t decode Dolby, while the M1 is a streaming amp that can decode Dolby. It’s like they got the features the wrong way around. And then there’s the cinema 70 🤔

How do you fit two x A/B class 100W channels in to a small box?? I wonder if the 'specs' are correct yet. I would guess they'd be a class D amp in that price range. I don't think the Marantz site makes any amp class claim yet.

You made it sound like this is superior machine which will save our ears from inferior Chi-Fi. Well, there is quite a few brands offering really good all-in-one boxes. Need to say that my Uniti Atom can drive even floor standing speakers with it's measly 40W of A/B amplification. Don't get me wrong, I like Marantz and still have MCR610 in guest bedroom but this video seems feels like paid promo from Marantz.

The Uniti Atom is a great piece but almost 4X the price. For the price, this sounds much better than other products in this price category. It definitely sounds better than the WiiM amp, but is $700 more. It will all come down to your budget and what you value your streamer.

A receiver will give you access to many more channels than just the two in the M1. The M1 is only available for pre-order currently. We had no issues with reliability during our testing. Who has said that?

Yep. But this product is aimed at those who would never buy WiiM or Fosi Audio because they have major confirmation bias and are convinced that there's no way a $300 system can sound as good as a $1000. The weird thing is that Marantz are unlikely to win any WiiM customers. So they're simply cannibalising their own lunch.

The Marantz M1 sounded much better than the WiiM amp when compared side by side. The WiiM is great for the price but if you're looking for better sound, the M1 is much better.

@@AudioAdviceDid you do double blind testing? I don't believe a DAC and amplifier can sound "much better" at reasonable listening levels. There might be some small changes but most of it will likely be confirmation bias or personal preference in different eq settings.

So, what speakers did the Marantz tuning professional use to tune this amplifier?. It matters because all speakers are different. Without the exact same speakers with the same amount of break in, nobody will ever get the sound the Marantz tuning professional got. Meaning its useless .
