I agree with most of the ranking, and yes you should definitely do TAG1 and 2

For me the first Marauder fight was the hardest since I knew the least at that point, and had the least amount of experience fighting him. I didn't know to swap weapons, so it ended up just being an SSG duel.

Nekravol hallway gotta be the hardest, Whiplash (my least fav demon) plus a Marauder?! Heck no...

hardest was buffed marauder in blood swamps ( ik its dlc not base game campaign)

I would swap the Final Sin last arena with the Nekravol Hallway fight. I think the latter is so unimportant that I more afraid of the creeping whiplash than the actual marauder. On the other hand, the Final Sin last arena just throws everything at your face at the same time and crazy chaotic. It's safe to say the last time you want in that arena is a crazy marauder that deflect BFG shots.

Speaking personally with the 30+ times I've beaten the campaign, I'd say the Taras Nabad titan marauder is actually one of the easiest just because of the boost pad that allows you to get some funny 0-cycle shenanigans with LOB and without needing to meathook off him and risk the wolf spawn.

My friend fought the Marauder for the first time last week, he had no tutorial or any idea how to fight him. He ended up killing the Marauder in under 30 seconds.

@@jasonturek6671 I have no idea, it was glorious though. He hates DOOM Eternal yet can slaughter a Marauder like a zombie. It's insane.

Personally, every single marauder fight in the base game and TAG1/2 goes under False Idols. That's not to say that I never die to them, just that they're all really uninteresting and simple to kill with the boring strat (save them to the end, bait their eye flash, shoot twice with SSG, dash away, repeat). All of the best marauder fights are in the Master Levels.

Master levels and even TAG definitely make it harder, though looking at the base game through the lens of, how this is what came out originally. Even if we are new to the game, we could have some issues with them. If not, they’re easier and introduce them at least

@@Allstin Oh certainly. It's just that in my own opinion, much of their difficulty in the base game (and to a degree, TAG) comes from the fact that it's not immediately obvious that their eye-flash isn't random and can be reliably baited. Once someone learns that, none of the encounters do much of anything to really discourage the boring marauder kill strat. Master levels (especially on classic) mix it up by throwing the marauder at you in really weird situations where the boring strat isn't nearly as reliable, forcing you to think outside the box and improvise. I never felt that this happened to a meaningful degree in base game/TAG.

I would say the two Screecher Marauders in Immora, the buffed Marauder in Blood Swamps and the one in Mars Core Slayer Gate deserve at least Your Eyes Are Opened. But yeah I definitely agree that the toughest Marauder fights are in the Master Levels (looking at you Mars Core ML double Marauder with Hell Knights/Whiplashes)

I'd swap the Nekravol 2 and last arena with secret encounter 2 and Nekravol hallway. That Nekravol 2 arena gave me so much grief and I always got to the marauder feeling too shook to concentrate. The last arena, on the other hand: hardest arena in the game BY FAR. Especially at the end; it was always the frickin gargoyles that kept killing me with the rain of whatever the heck they shoot out, and that was the one fight that managed to make me respect gargoyles. The Taras Nabad secret encounter completely slipped my mind, so I guess that one must have been completely moderate for me; just do it and move on kind of thing. The Nekravol hallway is really tough, yeah, but it was also just pure fun on my first go.

Nice breakdown! I think the last arena gets overlooked cause it’s so easy to spam BFG and crucible (aside from on the marauder)

I've started using grenades to kill the Mecha Zombies at the start Taras Nabad secret encounter and haven't failed it since. You get plenty of time for the marauder.

Honestly I'd say the Urdak Ring is probably the hardest. The Titan in Taras Nabad is actually not too bad, cause it's an open space and great for a drawn out duel. Final Sin rooftop is a fun one, especially if you're using the Marauder as a meathook node. As far as TAG, UAC Atlantica double Marauder is also not so bad. If you're a BFG user, it's easy to delete both of them.

Ok. I played arc complex earlier. Pretty sure more demons got added. And this is 1000 hours of DE. Granted I play alot of ML and horde. Am I right tho? And to be honest. This needs 'every' marauder fight. I bet we all have different opinions.

@@Allstin I played it today as one of the 'challenges' complete so many levels. And ML's don't give you completion rewards? Or have I not played that map for so long?
