Hope you enjoy your reads for the month! I have so many titles from Humble Bundle too that I keep forgetting about. It was nice to see what you had!

Yeah it’s really easy for me to forget about manga that I don’t own physically. Maybe I’ll add a tracker to my spreadsheet or something.

I was planning on reading, lost lad London this month or the mystery madness. I read the first two volumes and really enjoyed them but I just wanted to reread and then finish it off. I really enjoyed the one that’s done by the no longer human guy. It was so dark though, but I really enjoyed it. I definitely want to try drops of God. Crying Freeman is one of my favs

I’m so interested in Genkaku Picasso. The covers don’t look dark at all but I know what other titles the author has done so I’m not totally surprised that it goes in that direction.

Humble Bundles are such amazing deals, I’ve also started to pick them up. I don’t mind reading digitally since I read on my iPad so the size is almost the same as a regular manga and no gutter loss. I bought the one with Square Enix so those are next on my TBR. Had to read them on Kobo though but that was great because I realized I could read all of Tokyo Pops titles with the Kobo Plus subscription. A 30 day free trail saved me lots of money so passing that tips along! Now I now what to pick up and keep in my collection from them.

The no gutter loss is a great selling point for digital manga actually. Of course I love supporting physical releases but I’ve also noticed that digital versions are often more detailed as well. Some of the art gets lost in the printing process sometimes.

@@tonireadsmanga Yeah i think there are a lot of good arguments for digital manga, like less storage (I can bring my collection anywhere), cheaper, more details (or ability to zoom) and no gutter loss. But the downside is not really owning it (unless it’s DRM-free), digital only releases not getting the same attention in translation and lettering and that most publishers doesn’t include back covers or extra content.

If you don’t mind reading digitally then I don’t think there’s a better deal out there than Humble Bundle. Just have to be on the lookout because they don’t do them too often.

Damn so many series, much of which I haven't even heard about 🤯

Kodansha doesn’t do a great job advertising their digital manga honestly

Ah, you make me want to go to the library again. I haven't been there in ages, but in Highschool I checked out books on a weekly basis. Why did I stop that? (When I started buying my own books I guess) Ok, new goal for this year: check out and read books from the lib! How do you handle your tbr of the books that you bought PLUS library check-outs? 😲 Alice in Borderland is also on my tbr - I am just waiting for a good used-book-deal. I almost watched the netflix series, but I always enjoy stories in book-form way more, so it would be silly to pick up the tv series first. Will you check it out / have you already checked it out?

I like to plan out my reading pretty heavily so I can get to everything I want to read in a month, but since the library is obviously free I do end up picking up more books than I can possibly read in a month. If I need to return it but I still want to read it then I’ll just put it on hold again. But since I’ve been reading so many library books I noticed I have been neglecting my physical tbr books a little bit. I’ve only watched the first episode of the Alice in Borderland Netflix series. I didn’t really have any problems with it, I just stopped watching because I don’t really watch tv shows anymore and I didn’t want to get spoiled for the manga (though I’ve heard the story is a bit different in each).
