Seabass fishing tips 🎣🎣, based on my own experience of fishing for sea bass with lures. I was lucky enough to catch some fantastic sea bass back in 2020, and decided to use that to give you all some bass fishing tips and tricks and explain my best seabass lures. Sea Bass fishing in Ireland can be tricky at times, but when the conditions are right make sure you know what lures to use and which conditions will they work best in.
This is not a sponsored video, I am explaining what works for me and trying to help you out guys, since I am getting an awful lot of questions about best lures for bass fishing.

Just found this channel,very refreshing to see somebody speak the truth about Bass fishing in as much as you don't need the most expensive lures and tackle to catch them,it's more all about learning the when ,where and why of it all. Some big name Bass fishermen out there would get a lot more respect from some of the more seasoned Bass anglers if only they would tell it as it is,but i suppose they have bills to pay. Subbed.

Very informative video. This makes it so much handier. I've never gone Bass fishing but fisherman / anglers in the pubs are on about absolute tanks of bass being hooked in Clew Bay, Bartragh, Murrisk and Rosskey. Mayo was never known for bass but in the last few years there's alot of lads and women on about catching huge fish well over 15 lb and talks of 20 pounders being in the water. Some claims of catches too. So hopefully this vid will help me catch my own monster bass
@MarcinKantor
@MarcinKantor 2 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! I wouldn't put too much faith into those stories being honest and wanting to set your expectations right. Sure, there are fish that size, but you hear more often of those down towards spain, portugal, france. There was one huge bass caught in southern england last year. In reality most common are fish of 2-5 pounds. 8lber is an excellent fish and double figure bass is rare, especially on lures. Anything larger is a fish of a lifetime. Best of luck! :)

Ron, thanks. As for Mayo, it's generally considered a good area for sea trout. Haven't fished there myself but any river estuary is a good bet. When it comes to bass, you'd be in a better chance after travelling down to kerry or further again, south. While you can get bass up there, it's considerably tougher than down south

I like your approach in bass fishing, one question If it's possible ok? I make my own lures I used land sea bass around 7 to 9 Kg that was January 2021 a small pier with lights I could also see during the night the strikes on surface I left for seasonal work and when I returned No sea bass at all a place where the bad days I could see 3 to 4 sea bass around but now none. Again making my own lures, Soft,Surface,Wtd, everything from smallest to the biggest lures but again nope I thought about smell,fish oils nope no luck. I'm afraid that the place is what we call burned . What should I try; any plan?
@MarcinKantor
@MarcinKantor 2 жыл бұрын
Might be many reasons for that, the lures in my opinion don't matter that much. If the fish were there they would hit something. Either the bottom has changed and fish don't find it attractive anymore or some human interference like nearby overfishing is to blame. Either way you need to change spots and find fish again

Hi Marcin, Great videos. I watch them all so fare, really enjoyed them🙂. As I'm new to Bass fishing I was wondering what length of rod and size of reel you are using? I bought an 8'3" Tailwalk max 35g. A few people have made comments regarding the size of the rod, saying I should have bought a 9' - 9'6". I looked closely at your videos and noticed you are using a 10-35g rod but I could not make out the rod and reel size. Thank you in advance. Derek
@MarcinKantor
@MarcinKantor 4 ай бұрын
Don't listen to them Derek. I started by using 9-9'6 rods as is the popular "belief" but very quickly went down to 8'6 and then about 3 years ago to 7'6 and haven't moved since. The short rods (as long as they are high quality) will allow you to cast as far as any 9'6, give better control over fish, better balance, lighter to fish meaning less fatigue and can fish for longer and better. I use Favorite Skylines TZ or Favorite Black Swans in that length casting up to 35gr.

hey marcin, nice work. - i hope i can check out your tips when i come to sylt next time, island on northsea side between dk and germany. - you surely know. i already bought the same lures, a sandeel-jig made from lead in brownish color, because in sylt sandeel is brown. other sandeel-plastics, wobblers, jerkbaits, stickbaits. too much. i have to use it now. But its hard work- far away, 3 hours with train, another two hours to travel to the spots. expensive, stressful. all alone some time. i came there 5 times but caught only makerel, and often not even that.. not that easy with the right tide and wheather n wind. last time , a buddy caught a seagull- that was katastrophic.-he, a beginner fisherman, cut line then in panic, made it worse ;worst case scenario happen:( i wasn t there to stop him doing that. - and we got blown away by rainstorm. it was almost a kick-out. a hate-love with notrh sea. maybe i get another chance this year. or maybe i am cursed : one time, i had one seabass on, but it came off. another angler, who made fun of me beeing hyped by that because he thought it would only be makerel caught one 55cm then after that, got also hyped. another time my fishing buddy caught 2! so i need revenge:-) i wish i had the opportunitys like you have. enjoy it, and tight lines from germany, where we only have the islands to catch seabass. @@MarcinKantor ah, you also a flyfisher. i saw you catching salmon: you so blessed- i feel a little jealous, but you are missing small streams you said, so . i could be happy , doing this . its the only thing im up to right now. in the krückau. today i got away with an ide, a bream and some perch up to 20cm, a short period before water turning direction by tide, the best time, as fish know they will get other conditions. (river elbe is 10km near my city elmshorn and there is 3,80 m tide there,brackish but muddy water, no bass:-).) i caught on different softplastics on ul spin. my favorite method,out for some small perchfilets from time to time. yes, the ide and bream liked also a clear neon-orange colored twister,presented very slow in a hole verticaly.. i can always recommend this particular color: clear-neon-orange!!! for almost every occasion as it is same color as perch. fins. this color caught me ervery predator as it mimmics also a crab - orange, and is color of sky on dusk and dawn. can t go wrong with it. but take it as a secret:) zander, pike, especially cod and perch love it the most from all neon uv-colors, i discovered many times. . guess on what color my only seabass bit on. they like crab also.. ;) i can make my own color-combos with the spike-it pens: you can save lots of money, if you pimp up all your old non-catching stuff with it.i am very happy i got it. just get the orange value pack- thats all you need. it lasts for ever, and you can choose from different flavors, which also last for ever. garlic works fine, and lasts. so you can make trash to stash. sorry - i am a tackle-and a talk- freak. don t feel obliged to answer- it will go on and on and on and on, and no time to go out :-) thats for winter times, tackle talk, but i wanted to give you that tip in season. . till next time, fabian

I'm a beginner where can I go and catch along the South Coast 👍
@MarcinKantor
@MarcinKantor 3 жыл бұрын
John, not a such thing as bass spots really, as they are always on the move. the trick is to put the time in at different stages of the tides until you intercept them moving. What you ideally like is a rocky ground, shallow reef next to some beaches. the edge of beach and rocks can be good. if it gets deeper than 2-3 meters you start to get into pollock and wrasse territory. so shallow for bass. ideal are reefs exposed on low water, covered on high water. fish them 2-3h before HW until 2-3h after estruaries are good too, usually these are fished around LW, 2 h each side best, if you open google earth view or osi maps, select a few spots on the south coast as per my explanation above and give them a good bash. Spring tides better than neaps, as more water movement bring more food and mor ebass. most important are water clarity, if it's dirty, I wouldn't bother on lures. crystal clear not great either. 1-2m visibility is perfect.
