i love Margeila cause the idea of fashion as concept is challenging for me... ive always seen fashion and clothing as something unnatural that is imposed upon us like a Biblical punishment, or a manifestation of our fear of nakedness...Margeila makes me consider fashion as art instead of advertisement or class status, but also makes me think about how much of art really is just class status

Haha, I’m glad you have so much confidence. No, I have not recorded most of the 42 episodes in advance 😂 And that’s a great idea! For this collection, it was well received by those in attendance, but very few people knew about the brand yet. A bunch of stores in attendance placed orders for product, but most never got the clothes because of production issues.

Dear Bliss Foster, I really appreciate the work you are doing! This was exceptionally helpful for my bachelor thesis which i write about Margiela. I just wonder: What happens to the masks after the show? Are they "only" part of the performance act? Or did/does the fashion house sell these masks as fashion?

Those shoulders, especially when done in the knit tee, looks like when you have a shirt or sweater on a hanger that really shouldn't be hanging and you take it off and put in on yourself and have those little peaks happening from the hanger imprint. Kind of fits in with the idea of white clothes showing all the dirt and wear, this is also the garment telling a story.
