I just love Sharapova's forehand down the line to the forehand, she has great footwork and hits it with great depth and accuracy. For me, it's the hardest shot to hit when you're nervous and you can pull off it and hit it short or shank it if you mistime it but Sharapova is so good at it. I remember Richard Williams once told Serena back in 2007, Maria doesn't have a forehand but he's wrong, she certainly does. Keep hitting it Maria!!

Even though I’m a huge fan of Serena, I love seeing Sharapova do will. She’s still a legend in the sport and it’s hard for me to watch her down in the rankings and out in first rounds

The difference in this match was the Serve. In the first set it was horrid from both. In the 2nd and 3rd Sharapova steppes up finally took charge of points and that’s what’s won her the match.

I've been rooting for Sharapova so far in every match but now she's coming up against Halep, I'm going to have to change it lol. There's only three matches left and this upcoming Sharapova/Halep match is the mother of all matches because of the head to head and how Halep is an underdog. I’m not an all out Maria fan but it’s good to see her win back to back matches and in three sets. So many folks won’t get past her suspension. I say let her make it there she just needed time. Last year she retired in a match and didn’t play until summer hard courts. She can only gain points from here on out.
