Both National anthem renditions weree superb. However, Mariah Carey had a huge load on her back. It was the first superbowl after 9/11 so the NFL had to have an awe inspiring minute of silent and a careful, famous and talented vocalist. She was meant to inspire people and give them a tiny spark to light the public's patriotism. As you can hear in the recording the moment she hits the whistle everybody stood screaming, and cheering, she provided a sense of safety to them and a way to make a union. Pure patriotism

I mean its her opinion, her taste and her bloody channel. This isn't even the first "vocal coach" who's being biased and spreading misinformation anyway. Its a trend on KZfaq. Take it as a from of entertainment rather than objective analysis. The vocal trinity and other great singers of past and present will remain legendary because of exceptional talent they've demonstrated.

She was before your time, but she reworked the Star Spangled Banner, for us in the states. "We shall behold Him" was one of her greatest hits. Thank you for pointing out the obvious...their age difference & different levels of experience. I love both but Ari has a ways to go to be truly compared to Mariah. Also, I didn't see your whole video, so you may have said this...Ariana doesn't try to mimic Mariah. She puts her own spins on covers. She also plays homage to Mariah (as she should). I've seen both in concert. Mariah will sing in full voice for 2 hours straight and Ariana sang for about one. Part of the reason would be Ariana's smaller catalogue. Thanks for another great post. I haven't seen you in awhile and was going to search you today. I love your shows.

Ofcourse Ariana is not copying Mariah. Somewhere over the rainbow was the first song Ariana had ever sung, she was like 4 that's why it means a lot to her. Ariana also loves christmas and she likes to perform during christmas, and back then didn't have her own christmas songs so she would cover the hit songs one of them being last christmas.

Absolutely ridiculous for the compare of Mariah and JLO The only reason that JLO gets the point is she does better than herself. The only reason that Mariah loses the point is the clip doesn't seems to be a live. I have no idea how there's somebody compare Mariah with JLO? They're even not on a level in the vocal technique. How can you say they are equally talented? It is not true. Starting from the range. Mariah can sing in a low register and in a high higher register. Mariah’s whistle is clearer MUCH MUCH MUCH higher, It is creative not strained and she even talks in it. I can go on and on and on. So saying they are equally good is just like being politically correct.

Jenny from the block that’s been a bop for almost 15 years. For me I don’t like so much riff notes it kinda defeats the purpose like Mariah love u but u don’t need to do every song with a riff off
