I'm curious how this turned out. I hope it worked great but I'm feeling a little squinty-eyed. There's a similar product, Permatex Permashield, that specifically indicates "fuel resistant", which I don't see for Type 2. The fact that Type 2 cleans up with alcohol makes me wonder how it fares with gasoline.

The instructions say to let the paste sit until it gets tacky. Not sure how tacky or how long it takes to get tacky but was hoping that issue would be mentioned. Glad it worked out for you!

Could you send the bubbles out of the window like you can do with headlight lenses?

That was what I originally thought I could do. Once I disassembled it I realized that the bubbles were throughout the plastic. Meaning that none were on the outside or inside but all through the middle. Not sure if it was manufactured before taking ethanol into account or just an overall flaw.

I used it a couple of times and then retired it in my shed because I got a new motor that came with a Honda gas tank.

Tank itself is in great condition. Leaking around the sending unit. Would rather not have to buy an entire new tank.
