I remember when I randomly watched a video of yours on Strongman back in January 2016 and got totally hooked by it - I used to hate the gym but went anyway. I thought that Strongman was my dream workout, but couldn't find anywhere here in São Paulo, Brazil where I could practice it so I sticked with the closest thing which is Powerlifting. Fast forward to 2020 and I'm now training with one of the best Brazilian Coaches (Gilson Clemente da Silva, FYI), I've had the opportunity to train with IPF legend Ana Rosa Castellain and I'll be participating at the Brazilian Nationals in February. Your vídeos have always been a source of knowledge and inspiration for me, Alan. I would still despise lifting weights If I hadn't clicked on a video of yours. Thank you A LOT. Sincerely, Raul

Hey brother thanks for sharing your story. I can relate to some of this so I know what you've been through. Got out of the Marines in 2010. Major depression. Failed to get a business started. Lost all personal (military) possessions in a storage unit. Undying support of gf (emotional/financial, etc). Main difference is I couldn't get out of the rut and lost everything and everyone except family. It's gotten better the past year so I remain focused and hopeful. Anyway, congrats on pushing through and achieving your goals and having a beautiful family.

Awesome video. Fired me up for what's ahead of me. Boot camp in less than a week. When i finish my career in the Marines, whenever that may be, i plan on making my art known worldwide. Seeing the initial struggles you dealt with also helped remind me that things might not start out great or go according to plan, but as long as i stay true to my goal, i can make it happen. The song in the background was like an ancient warrior's motivation before going to battle. Stay blessed brother. Your video on what to work on before boot camp helped me cut my run time down by 2+minutes.
