It gives them more experience to be fighting in land as well. WW2 showed that land capabilities of Marines is very important because there is no knowing how far inland fighting can go. In WW2 they were involved in urban environments.

I know you are foaming at the mouth to get some Chinese, let the Chinese come and get some ! Study how Chesty Puller fought the Chinese and if you still want to be a Marine, remember that China is a whole different war than the mideast. You won't be able to see your enemy for the most part and they will pursue one enemy warrior with a thousand men. Their warriors are extremely expendable while ours are priceless. Vietnam learned tactics from the Chinese and already had experience in endless wars. China is the motherlode of warfare in the region and is the second most powerful nation on earth. They are quickly growing in military might and resolve. Your life expectancy will be far less than it was in the Pacific in WWll . If caught you will be ruthlessly tortured and you will scream, holler, cry and whine and when they get from you what they want you are likely going to be executed in some fashion. They might even harvest your organs and sell them to meet the global shortage on human organs and the rest of your body they may grind and put it in dog food or even people food, calling it sweet pork to African nations who would think it is pork, not knowing any difference. They might even do scientific things to you while you are alive like inject you with disease or study your pain threshhold or some wierd thing like exposing you to some wierd sexual disease. You are just another human body to them. Arabs have tortured people to death. Death by a thousand cuts is where they skin you alive many times in very thin slicings this is done to your whole body , even the family jewels. It is a tough cruel world out there in war time. Make sure you are tough mentally and physically before you enter the Corps. It is not sunshine, rainbows and unicorns going through boot, then, going through training for your specialty. A lot of mouths will be hollering at you while you try to concentrate, in my day it wasn't just mouths, we got hit and hit very hard . I have been kicked in the nuts, smacked in the jaw only to be able to eat soup and mush for a month. It is much easier today and even PT is cut in half. So you can easily make it through boot, it was two to three times harder in my day. If you have to serve, the Air Force and Navy is much easier or even the Army or Coast Guard and there is always the Space Force, the easiest of them all. If you have served in any of those branches, it is easier to find work because you are taught marketable skills. The Marines are just proud ass grunts and there is no market for that unless you become a mercenary or something like that. You will be out in the streets trying to survive unless you are an officer, who are instantly hireable into high paying positions. I was once refused a job because I was a " trained killer". Nothing I could say would change the opinion of that employer. There are too many suicides by military veterans per day. When you get out you don't feel you belong in everyday society and can't see where you fit. The government doesn't care about your plight and you are nothing to them. Fighting for your country and fighting for your government are two different things. Our country wants fre and liberty government is just a greedy organization. I would give it a lot of thought before I joined if I were you. Back when I was in during Nam, things were much different but sliding down a slippery slope. Today is far different. We all want to be proud heroes but we don't have to be in the military to be somebody's hero. Maybe you want to test yourself and go through the rite of passage, there are better ways. You can get into sports of some type or something else. Yes, as Marines, we are proud brothers but that is all most of us have. A few are riich while the rest struggle. If you want that kind of life, welcome aboard. You could become a minister and be a hero to a Marine and other military guys. We need heros too. Heros need heros. Everytime I am taken off in an ambulance, the paramedics find out quickly that I am a Marine because the destination is usually a VA hospital and they call me a hero, I tell them I am no hero, you guys are the real heros and my hero at that ! I tell the doctors and the nurses that they are my heros, not the other way around. There are many heros in America and we need to make sure it stays that way. Well youngblood, I hope you make a wise decision, the wrong one could be quite painful and last you the rest of your life. Please take my advice to heart. I am a 68 going on 69 years old, old enough to be your grandpa, I am homeless, 100 per cent service connected permanently and totally disabled Marine Veteran, married to a supportive wife who also is homeless. Housing is to expensive for me and my wife and she helps me throughout my rotten miserable life. We are both Christian and I am still patriotic. I am only alive by God's grace. Each day for me is a new day and not a day goes by that I don't think of those I once knew that never made it back and many came back wounded and disfigured. Some, no one knows what happened to them. So young Mr. Wolf think about it before you sign the papers. Once you do, you are enslaved by the government and become government property no different than a weapon or a vehicle or some object that can be misused, abused or broken or wrecked. Don't let fantasies cloud your judgement ! I would serve my country again but not our government. Take care and Semper Fidelis to God and Country !

Whenever Australians can make up their minds on who they want in their land, US Forces or the Chinese. Seems many Aussiesndon't want American forces there and welcome the Chinese while others prefer it the other way around. Oz needs to get it together.
