Josh, OUTSTANDING interview w/ Mario. You are easily the best young Sports Analyst out there today. You don't pretend one win or one loss is either the greatest thing that's ever happened to a program or the worst. U always stay level headed & even keeled and see the big picture. Will always love Mario and what he did for the DUCKS! I don't blame him a bit for leaving. That's his home. Had I been the coach at Miami, and the OREGON job could be mine. There would be no decision, I would go back to OREGON without question. I just grew up in Eugene loving the DUCKS! $$$ wouldn't even matter. I get it, always routing for Mario, unless he plays US!

Technically it’s year 3 the first year he could have gutted the program like Deion but he gave everyone a fair chance to make the team. 3 All American freshman with ACC freshman defensive player of the year. Building a competitive program takes time and patience. He admitted to his mistakes and made adjustments & this will be a great season. Went & signed the #1 qb in the portal and now working on the #1 RB in the portal to improve the team. Go Canes!!!🙌

Not sure if there is a coach under more pressure to succeed this year than Mario. Miami has improved in the talent department, but they need to win games on the field. Miami should be better than Georgia Tech, Duke, and Virginia Tech

As a Die-Hard Canes Fan… I’ve got Full Faith in Mario. C… that he will not only (Eventually) get us a NT… but Several. I’m certain you have no clue what a disaster that program was and what he accomplished there. Maybe you haven’t seen his last two recruiting classes at Miami? He is building the trenches on both sides ,and our little brothers up north should be concerned. Have a great day!

Mario is building a bully from the gound up that takes 4 to 5 years to become elite year after year. How do you know we're portaling over anyone ? At this point in the spring window we've actually only lost players. And we can use the portal as a supplement when you got back to back top 7 high school classes like Miami did.

He talks so much about how he develops talent and doesn't just bring in transfers all the time. 55% of his blue chip recruits left him when he was at Oregon. It's happening again at Miami. He uses the portal at a high rate despite claiming that he doesn't. I wonder if he learned to take a knee over this off season.

As of now 2 of the offensive starters would be transfers. Defense is much more unsettled, but I’d lean towards 6. Mario is going in his 3rd season. To say his blue chippers are leaving is factually untrue. To date only two players have left that would be a loss. Colbie young and Naj Kelly. Colbie was brought here by Mario and left to Ga for a bag. Kelly has great potential but is still recovering from surgery, tried to up his NIL at a position we Are very deep. Everyone else that Mario kindly has asked to leave, you probably couldn’t even name, as they have not gone on to do anything special under a different coach. Cute try though.

@@TimeMachine7773 You are referring to Mario’s transition class which Mario took the job in December. Had like a month until early signing day. That being said, every one of those players gone, were asked to leave minus Kelly who likely could have stayed and competed. Miami wasn’t willing to up his NIL so he walked. I can literally run down every player and give you the back story as to what led to their departure.

Every coach is a salesman, The issue is getting the team your building to internalize and manifest the greatness the coach envisions consistently. Mario is genuine, total buy-in from top to bottom will establish the continuity and the winning ways again.
