I think one thing not considered that should be is how the alts work with everyone. For example, baby DK has chemistry with yoshi meaning yoshi, baby dk, yoshi is a fantastic outfield. Characters like bowser jr likewise get a buff from being able to have 2 bros (hammer fire and boomerang) on their sides. Alts make their fielding work in the middle way better as the fantastic dives of the alts let those smaller but faster dk and jr do their thing wonderfully

Really solid list, really like the Blooper and King Boo placements. I disagree with Bowser the most tbh, not much, like a tier solely for his Chemistry and tackle for phenomenal synergy with the Hammer Bros and Magikoopas.

I feel like for a tier list like this you need to take more into account what a character is actually doing in the field as opposed to just their raw stats. For instance, I strongly disagree with Peach in B-tier. How exactly is she helping you in the field? Her arm and hitbox are terrible in middle infield, her chem tree offers no benefits at 1B, and her arm is below average. You could play her in CF with two Toads for a passable Buddy Jump OF, but I think even Toadette fills that niche better, and building your OF around Peach means forsaking her pitching, which is basically the only reason to play her. Luigi and Diddy Kong have the same issues (Diddy might be worse than Toadsworth as a fielder). For the same reason, I think characters like Pianta and Bowser Jr are underrated on this list, and should be at the top of A-tier at least. Pianta is one of the best middle infielders in the game in terms of raw stats, and it's incredibly easy to pick up a Toad or Ball Dash Noki for chem throws to 1B. Similarly, Bowser Jr is the absolute best CF in the game. With two Hammer Bros in corner OF, you form an incredible buddy jump core with fantastic throwing arms and great ability to reach the ball due to Jr's speed and the Bros extended dive. Smaller hitboxes are also less of a liability in OF. Regardless, great video as always, and I appreciated hearing your rationale for each characters' placements.

Wooo! Tier list video! Honestly any video from the sluggers is something to get excited about. As a Luigi fan it kinda hurts to see Nintendo kinda screw him in the chemistry department.

When I first started playing super sluggers I was all about speed and fielding for consistency. The more I played the more I realized consistency was not that useful. Plays are either routine of super difficult. For routine plays it does not really matter who is out there. For super difficult plays that attributes that time and time again stood out were the size/dive and the arm. That extra inch or extra oomph would sometimes turn super difficult plays into outs. Sure they can also fail, but the play was super difficult you were not likely to get it anyway. Speed and fielding give consistency on routine plays, but the thing about routine plays is they are routine. Sure, a dolt like K-Rool is going to fail at even the most rudimentary plays, but by and large you don't need that much speed and fielding to be serviceable at routine plays. It was the shift in thinking that it made more sense. You can hedge your bets that you will be more likely to make the plays you are likely to make, or you can hedge your bets that sometimes you will be able to turn a hit into an out. In the long run I find that the much more oppressive defense is the one that is never out of the fight. Thank you for coming to my ted talk on why 4 kritter infield gives me dopamine.

Honestly I think baby mario and Luigi are good. Their ability to get to the ball is incredibly important, plus he works well with Yoshi. In most cases you can catch someone out, however if you can't you can do that combo thing where you tackle the ball, as the speed makes sure two people will be at the ball.

Me personally i wouldn’t put Mii at high D tier since i have had great results with them and i quite like their super dive the only thing i hate about them is that when a character star hit they always bobble it in the infield and it can’t get far enough to get to the outfield to catch it

what ever you do DONT go for dive catches with mario unless you know he will get it ive had some bad moments with mario hes ALWAYS missed dive catches
