The thing is. Sonic's super forms last longer than Mario's star and sonic is most definitely fast enough to home attack on him and take away any of his abilities he uses except for Giant Mario. Sonic has ran through perfect chaos before so he could just run on giant Mario until it runs out. In the part where sonic and mario are powered up Mario would've ran out by the time they went into the sky. Sonic should've won but im not holding a grudge.

let me just set something. mario has kicked a castle, which is stronger than anything sonics done. but in base form that is! super sonic: speed x10, strength x10 durability x10 hyper sonic: speed x200, strength x200, durability X infinity also, mario's metal cap is like all the over power-ups,but you can't kill him by jumping on him. his white raccoon only comes if mario has died 5 times the rainbow star only gives him about 12 seconds of invinsability. so they didn't measure the time limit. and sonic can collect rings with the electric shield or his super or hyper form in sonic the hedgehog 2 So they made a huge mistake

You know it's kinda bullshit because they didn't use modern sonic and also sonic himself literally says he gets stronger and faster with every passing day technically modern sonic is faster than the speed of light but he never runs at his full speed because if he did everything around him would probably be destroyed but I do like how they made it so sonic summoned all the chaos emeralds to him because he can do that because he does control them as shown with the intro of sonic unleashed when eggman is holding sonic sonic just close his eyes and concentrates and then the chaos emeralds just warp in front of him it's because he summoned them and I like how they made him turn hyper because a lot of people forget that he can do that and also if Mario throws sonic to the water sonic would survive and just end up running the water like In the games I'm just saying the battle would have been longer so technically this isn't a real death battle I say they need to do another one with the modern sonic and Mario of today and it needs to actually be realistic because there would be two different endings one where sonic wins and one where Mario wins and also they wouldn't fight over a chair because realistically sonic and Mario would bring their own chairs because sonic is not an asshole and neither is Mario so there needs to be a better reason for the fight and it can't be food because Mario likes spaghetti and sonic likes chilledogs and also sonic has a whole bunch of other moves that they didn't use so technically this was kinda rigged from the start and this is sonic in the classic games you had figure out the story just by the visuals so in the modern games they do a little at times and if they do a fight with modern sonic and Mario they would have to use some things from the IDW sonic comics because the IDW comics are cannon to the games and they take place after sonic forces and they follow the events of modern sonic and the gang and sonic is like is like 29 years old but he's physically 15 years old this is because there is two worlds are world and mobius sonic's world so when they are on earth they age like we do and when they go back to their world their bodies go age back a bit because time works differently on the two worlds and sonic confirms a lot of things he just doesn't say the exact thing he's confirming but if your you can figure out what he's confirming like in sonic colors he hinted to the fact that his hands are blue underneath the gloves basically confirming that he shaves the fure off of his arms and also before you ask the real reason they go on a adventure for the chaos emeralds is so sonic can have some fun and not be bored because he knows he could summon the chaos emeralds and the reason he doesn't really use them that much anymore is because he's probably strong enough without them and he will only use them as an absolute last resort and also I know this isn't related but sonic has feelings for amy for years they hinted to this in the games and then sonic team eventually realsed a book confirming that he dose have feelings for amy and he only runs away because he shy and since he's already shy when she chases him it makes him more shy so he runs and also he yes to the date with Amy in sonic unleashed that's why in the end of sonic and the black knight amy was talking about a date because sonic got nervous and chickened out but in the Idw comics sonic is a little more confident and doesn't hide that he has feelings for her and they both know but they can't be together because sonic likes to be free and run and plus if egg man knew he would do a lot worse than capture her but anyway those are my two cents
