apparently, if this happens enough times the speed will overflow and the music will play slow

I could see that happening. I know in Advance Wars you can overflow the luck variable and make damage into no damage. I suppose one could use a level editor and populate a level with enough green berries...or just edit the variable using a cheat device/program. Thank you for commenting.
