Link to my router table circle jig: • Simplest Router Table ...
I wanted to upgrade my router table for a long time. But since I didn't want to build a new router lift at the moment I found a different solution. The router used in this video is an AEG MF 1400KE, which is the same as the 2HP one sold by Ridgid.
Due to a few comments about dust collection. I didn't show in the video, but I still have dust collection in the fence and now also the collection port that is attached to the router base.
Enjoy the video!

Hi Marius, I am new to your web site and I am impressed with your expertise and ingenuity, also your practical ideas. I am new to making my own wooden tools so I love what you do. I do not have all of the power tools that you have so I am a little jealous - just kidding. I also like the way that you show your mistakes and how to correct them, thank you for that vulnerability, you give me hope for how to correct my own mistakes.Please keep up the good work in your videos, they are great. My present project is a router lift and an insert with rings, I am being stretched and I am learning at the same time. that is not bad for a 75 year old retiree... Jim

Nice to know i'm not the only one who's ideas don't always pan out in spots. LOL.....I'm building my own router table and one of the legs came away from the underside of the table. Had to remove the entire leg and replace and support it with additional components. But its the love of the build that keeps us going. Love your sense of humor Marius!! thanks for posting.

Love it! I actually have almost the same router. USA version so it's a RIDGID. built a similar table with hole for lift screw access but I find it fills with sawdust and I often finder quicker just to reach under and pop the quick release so I can just push it all the way up. Great to have you putting out videos regularly again!

Im making my insert plate out of a 1/2" polycarbonate piece. Thats a great idea you have there! I was gonna rely on the weight of the router to hold the insert in place anyway, it never occurred to me that i vould just lift it out and use it in reverse as a wide plate for top down operation.

Interesting technique with the bur to hold the machine screws. I've seen similar things for nuts to pinch on threads. Spindle locking leaver is a nice touch too. Well done.

Thats a very slick table setup. I've got a Porter Cable 891, which doesn't have above table controls. So I'll add a lever to unlock the micro-adjust and a small dc motor to drive it forward and reverse. The notching and magnets were a nice touch. Subbed!

Hello Marius, two years ago I bought the same router to use in a router table, because of the inbuild lift. But I am disappointed, after some use the router started to fall out of the base when cranking it upwards. Keep us informed about your experience. (also the tubes of the plunge base are of very poor quality, the plunge action gets very difficult after a while) Thank you for your videos.

Nice! Ive been thinking about how nice it would be to have an adjustable router base for my table router...until i saw the price! Great idea! Unfortunately my router doesn't have an adjustable base like yours with an adjustment bolt on the side...mine is kind of a cheap one too...when i upgrade it, i will look for a base with this feature (not sure how common this is... have not looked in a long time)... this will be my first project with it! After you adjust the bit height from above, do you have to reach under the table and tighten the clamp (base around the motor), or do you leave it loose? I have a Ridgid router which looks very similar to yours, and I find that the act of re-clamping changes the height of the bit slightly.Not sure what would happen if I didn't re-clamp every time.
@MariusHornberger
@MariusHornberger 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you need to clamp the router every time. During clamping my router also moves very slightly. If I wouldn't clamp the router then the router drops down, as it happened in my outtakes.

Have you considered remaking the plate and mechanisms with the CNC router, but using a high-density plastic (or even maybe aluminum)? You might possibly trim the thickness of the plate, etc.. if you do so.
