Lindell sinned against everyone and where’s his repentance? It was public sin that required public rebuke and Matthew 18 does not fit this situation. Typical church practice using a scripture out of context.

Lindell says Alex is a Christian, but if you go to Alex's website and look at the photo album he is shown "shooting the bird".... no references to jesus... just a little vulgarity. Something Lindell can verify with a quick search

Lindell needs to repent. He's arrogant - and wrong. And- the pole man is a Christian? I've looked everywhere for his testimony and can't find it- but I can find lots of the " other". The only comment he has made had NOTHING to do with being a Christian- he was simply defending his performance- NO mention of Christ at all.

I have known John Lindell for years. i dont know what happened but after researching Mark Driscoll, The Rise & Fall of Mars Hill, a Mega church he ruined and resigned after lots of craziness. I am so heartbroken to see a serious situation like this brings out all the naysayers, name calling and two Christians fighting. Everyone has a comment this IS the season of harvest. You sow words you reap the harvest. Your position is to pray for mercy for them both. Don't comment if you don't know where God stands on this issue. Prov. 9:7,8 and Prov 13:8 Matthew 18 is between 2 people but there was a crowd. They all saw the show.

I was in that service. There was no cut in the audio. It’s my belief that both men were and are wrong. This whole situation could’ve been handled differently by both and we would have had an end to the division of this mess.

Thanks for discussing this. I’ve had such a heavy heart about it. It is insane how one narcissist can cause such ripples of destruction in the big C Church. Mark does all the classic narc tells - love-bombing, gaslighting, hoovering, grandiosity, projection, bullying, entitlement, exploitative behaviour, arrogance, denial. Why are we allowing him to be on any stage, anywhere?? Where is the wisdom from the leaders and shepherds?

At this point, I think people are going to be super hesitant to share their platform with Driscoll. And weirdly, he's going to benefit from it and play the victim, as if the "woke mob" is out to get him or something.

The sword swallower made a statement that does not fit with Lindell's account. John Lindell needs to repent. Mark Driscoll was 100% correct even though I am no fan of his. I feel bad for Alex. I see him as the real victim here. Dude was just doing a performance that he was invited to do. FYI I've learned that the reason you take your shirt off for sword swallowing is to show the crowd that you're not hiding the sword within your clothing, and so your shirt doesn't impede your safety as you're climbing the pole. They have gotten death threats before, because of their actions here. Lindell used to preach the word. No longer. Mark went away. To the mountains where he could be in silence. Lindell needs to go be silent also. You stopped the video at the point where he called anyone who spoke against him sinners, or spoke against his anointed children! I know Lindell personally. Sounds like THE CHURCH Initiation to me. I think it was all for show. This all feels like how the WWE plays things out. My thoughts was he was trying to sell books before I heard this. But I did see Mark bow to that man, and I don’t trust any of THEM.

Here’s the thing, Pastor Mark doesn’t need to be a saint to be right on this issue. It’s ok if you have issues with how he handled it but you cannot possibly have an issue with the point he was making. I feel like many of you that want to rip him to shreds are really missing the point. Pastor John is wrong 3 times now, first for booking the act. Secondly for how he handled it in the moment, and now thirdly for this ‘sermon’. It is GRAVELY ALARMING that Pastor John said that NO ONE on his (probably more than 2x dozen person) team had an issue with the booking. No one called it out. None of the other speakers ‘saw’ anything wrong. My mind thinks about the men there that are probably struggling with homos*xuality, and how they came there hoping to find guidance. And then one of the opening acts is a man ripping off his shirt and climbing up a pole??? And y’all want us to focus on the flaws of THE ONLY PERSON who RIGHTFULLY called it out??? The woman at the well wasn’t the perfect vessel, but she was the only one The Spirit had to work with in the moment. And she was the catalyst to the redemption of a whole city. You don’t need to be a Pastor Mark fanboy to see that his TAKE on this is Biblical and Theological. You can, however, disagree with his methods all you want. Even the Apostles disagreed, and they all received the same teachings from Christ Himself. I really think we’re missing the message because of who the messenger is. There’s something not right in James River, and by extension in The Body as a whole. Maybe it’s this ‘Jezebel spirit’ Pastor Mark is talking about. Maybe something else. But we really need to key into and catch it, for the sake of us all but especially James River. It’s such a big platform, we cannot watch it just fail. Maybe I’m wrong for this take, but I saw Pastor Mark kinda like that Samaritan woman, the only one The Spirit had to work with in the moment.
