What the fall does today the rest of the world does tomorrow! Kinda sums up the man's genius, we will never see his likes again. RIP MES

Except it's complete and utter bollocks on both counts, like so much of what he claimed. The trouble with Mark E Smith was he was an insignificant ego maniac.

I hope there is but there's nothing else on my tape I'm afraid. After this it went into a bit about Salford Lad's Club but that's where that recording ended.

Hello! do you know what date in 1992 this is from? What's on the rest of the programme? its for a project I'm doing.
@mrdisposablerazor5 жыл бұрын
Might take a while to track down my tape of this but unfortunately I didn't record the whole programme. After this it cut to the start of a feature on Salford Lad's Club but I can't explain why I didn't at least let the recording run for that.

@@mrdisposablerazor Cool thank you - its just I work at a TV archive and we're trying to track down the date for this particular show - we have a few based in Manchester - but this particular one, it might be the only surviving copy of the interview.

Good call. You'd assume it had to be one of his regular haunts and that the TV crew had to go to him. I did go to The George a couple of times but we're talking 1989 and assume it was the lounge bar we were in so it didn't ring a bell.
