I have followed this band since in high school. I've checked out the new "GFR" and I really think they are making fools of themselves. I for one believe that what Don did to Mark was atrocious and when Mark was no longer in the band, ALL the TALENT left with him. Godspeed Mark, you're still the best!!!!!

Saw Mark play a small club in Cambridge,ma , mid 80s during a snow storm, the late Billy Powell of Lynyrd Skynyrd opened up for him, Mark joked to the small audience about being used to playing out a sold out Boston Garden back in the 70s,long story short,he played a few religious based rock tunes and then went into a full blown set of classic Grand Funk Railroad songs and to this day I put that concert in my top ten concerts of all time...It really is sad how a guy who wrote all those songs was screwed over by his former bandmates over the use of the Grand Funk Railroad name, don't think it will happen but sure hope they work things out because they belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and proved on the 1999 reunion tour that they still got the magic...

You know, this man is talented and has always, really, connected with the audience. The guys who worked him out of the former group, they may not realize it, but due to their actions, they LOST him. The drummer is great, but this man made the group. Without him, the other guys have a karaoke band!

Strictly speaking, Mel is the better musician. Brewer is a big-mouthed dou*ch who literally cheated GFR fans out of more GFR. He is only exceeded by Terry Knight. Mel? Sweet human.

GFR is my favorite band next to Beatles. IF Brewer brought his band to Ironton - I would NOT go see them if free. On the other hand I would travel miles to see the master Farner.

I have played in bands for almost 30 years and i always had the volume knobs on the guitar all the way up all the time. And just relyed on a volume pedal to get the sweet spot i need at the right time when singing. I have had so many tell me i'm lazy at using the knobs on the guitar, but after hearing that Mark does it the way i have now i feel good.

Mark Farner -- awesome fellow. Genuine and intelligent. He was GFR! The vocals, the stage presence, the author of all of the songs. No doubt at all. If one fellow is instant recognizable as the leader of GFR it is Mark. GFR via Mark was with me throughout high school. Mark - just market yourself at Mark Farmer formerly of GFR. That is legal most likely. Although I would love to read your documents. I am a lawyer.

Compare this interview to the interviews of the KISS members being interviewed. KISS is a bunch of whiny drama queens running down their band mates with every utterance out for their mouths. Farner is definitely a much more down to earth fellow.

Though Don and Mel put the screws to Mark. In all honesty Mark should have had the wherewithal to have the contract Don wanted him to sign gone over by Mark's lawyer. Unfortunately he was way too trusting in a business where you can't trust anyone. For me Mark is and always will be Grand Funk.
