Painting stories , images & memories with words, music, & class is Mr.MK. If there is one live celebrity I would want to meet, it would be him. I've been a devotee since I first heard Sultans in April 1979, the year I graduated high school. The only thing I miss is the blazing guitar leads of the early Dire days. Contrast the above song (8+ min) with Telegraph Road (14+min). The guitar seems more an afterthought now. I guess I just would like to see if he can still rip like the old days.

I have wonderful memories of DS, and even a couple of tunes he did with Steve Phillips prior to DS and all the madness. He does still rip it up- and that's what is the best of all. We get the fine wine of time's passage and the exuberance of the early days; master wordsmith. I , too would like to meet him.

Please don't be patronizing. Mark has given us a fantastic ablum, and also a world tour. Most of us fans love Privateering! Sailing to Philadephia was a long time ago, so was Brothers in Arms. Move on..

I agree. I've been a top fan since early 80's. He has some good songs on Privateering, but I don't care for all the jazzy blues style tunes on there. A completely different direction from what made him so unique. "Get Lucky" is one of his best solo albums.
