I will forever say that Mark Lanegan was the secret protagonist of the Seattle Grunge scene. This guy fronted his own iconic band, was idolized by Kurt Cobain, best friends with Layne Staley, and beat his addiction.

I vividly remember being a young teenager when this music broke out. I was instantly hooked! Now being 44yo and living through many different styles of music I can firmly say that 90s rock was the best era of music period! Most of these guys are nothing more than memories and that’s a crime to every young new fan of their music. Maybe one day there will be another movement like this and if there is I hope they can live longer lives. Most died so very young without tapping into their best work in my opinion. Rest easy guys.

All the more reason for Courtney to be tried for Kurt's murder, albeit 30 years' hence. More than enough evidence (ie as Courtney's PI, Tom Grant says, no human in history, junkie or not, has not died instantly with that level of heroin, let alone neatly pack up the kit, aim and shoot; the note Courtney's lawyer found in Courtney's bag to 'get arrested' and which she did at the time Kurt was murdered; in the same handbag Courtney had a handwriting practice pad which aligns to the different handwriting in the 'suicide note'; Courtney's attorney confirmed Kurt was about to file for divorce; etc etc).

I’m actually here…after watching. Or, hearing part of it.. on autoplay it popped up and played. that fucking interview of this “whistleblower”. About how kurt was murdered for his royaties. Fucking sad. How people will take a geniuses legacy and spin the narrative for profit Not surprised. But it makes me cringe. And i almost hate the cringe. Seeing your comment on top. Primes me to salute 🫡 a real fella Eloquently saying..in few words. The truth. “In few words” lol something i struggle with. But hey. Fuck it is say it like it is. I love his voice. Saw him in concert 3x. I like the fact that later in his life he became so prolific. Worked with a lot of musicians. Apart from The Screaming Trees and his solo, he worked with Isobel Campbell, Mad Season, Duke Garwood, Skeleton Joe (Dark Mark & Skeleton Joe), Greg Dulli (The Twilight Singers and The Gutter Twins), Manic Street Preachers, Mark Morton, Soulsavers, Unkle, Queens of the Stone Age, Cult of Luna, Moby and who knows whom else. All different musical styles.

@@klm4446 he had some wild genetics or something, look at Ozzy how he made it to his 70’s is remarkable. Would be cool to get the audio book version, since mark reads the book himself and his voice is perfect for narrating his life story. it’s on the list!

Get the audio book with Mark reading it. It used to be on here. It was repulsive and gave me anxiety and depression and I felt filthy hearing his horrifying experiences and terrible lifestyle. And I`ve seen people in that lifestyle and was involved in it but I never took anything from others. I was just a very messed up alcohol and substance abuser on cloud 99 for 10 years after quitting my band and trying to be normal...but I had money, no real responsibilities, and found myself surrounded by anything I wanted, delivered, including alcohol, food, smokes, cheap powerful substances in huge amounts, and my dealer was a fellow musician, my best "friend"...and made a living off my cash flow, vehicles, phone, and property. Then he sold to feds on camera...went away...and the monsters appeared. Wolves, scammers, criminals, narcs, mind games, theft, and huge danger. I`ll never recover from it, but 80% of it was like being in heaven until the devil showed up.

Avoid the conspiracies, people are so obsessed with those over the truth. It was an extremely depressed man with a horrible addiction , and fame none of us could comprehend. It was suicide, nothing more or less.
