Cobain was a loser. Gen X are the reason why things went downhill. They embraced tattoos, Clinton, heroin, alternative rock, Atheism, depression, suicide and other things that ruined society. Gen X is why Woodstock Festivals stopped after 1999 with their riots and anarchic behavior that would have made their heroin addicted loser hero happy but wait he didn’t believe in God or Satan. All of the Gen X singers and many of the musicians died like chickens@&$s. Either by suicide or OD or both together. The last original Grunge singer Vedder is still alive while Armstrong, Corgan and Reznor are irrelevant now and retreated when Millennials and Zoomers embraced teen pop, Hip Hop and EDM. Ironically rock music is dead now and will not ever come back.

I guess in retrospect The “Black” album is sort of the peak of the mountain top following Justice. Where do you go from there ? The 90’s awkward transition into grunge made metal music lay dormant for a few years until about 1997. Load and Reload are to me a perfect bridge between those years.
