Hey Lex, loved this interview. I wanted to get Mark's back a little bit and let you know he was saying you were a little impish, it has a different connotation than the word imp. imp·ish /ˈimpiSH/ adjective inclined to do slightly naughty things for fun; mischievous.

I think it's more that being perceived to be really smart is often antithetical to being funny. Jokes don't hold up to being analysed it's usually more about the vibe. Norm macdonald famously ridiculed people who tried to be too smart, and he always played the fool on purpose.

@@tapitforever we weren’t talking about character as a whole, we were talking about whether or not Lex is genuinely smart or fraudulent, Elon’s opinion on that is valid. To agree with someone who says Lex is “dumb”, neglects facts that would suggest otherwise. Maybe, like Elon, he is socially awkward, many smart people are. I don’t understand how that, and him bringing up his relations to MIT, which he’s only 8 years removed, brings you to the conclusion he is fraudulent. Mark Normand is Laser Sharp. I remember him appearing on O&A maybe a decade ago and thinking this guy is Jim Norton quick AND Very Funny. His delivery is so light but his sense of humour is so dark. His cadence is great too. It sounds like he has a laugh permanently trapped in his voice. He's a likeable fella too. Great choice of guest! @Lex Attell is definitely a comedian's comedian, much-like Colin Quinn & Dave Chapelle although the latter is HUGE in terms of Global Audience, they are the foundations of modern US stand-up. There are a good few others I could name too not ALL US but mostly. Otto Petersen, Patrice & Bill Hicks to name a few. Brian Regan & Russell Peters seem to be Universally hilarious. My UK recommendation would be Stewart Lee, he'd make a fascinating guest, he loves music too.

"Do you think love can last?" Absolutely it can, and does. The love between a parent and child. The love between a person and their pet. The love between lovers. Sometimes it feels as if it turns to hate, but it's just a result of us feeling our love is not being reciprocated equally, and then the hurt just masks the underlying love that still remains. Love is a river that will twist and turn. Sometimes it can be shallow. Sometimes you feel you are drowning within it. Sometimes it carves a canyon that is deep and beautiful to behold, teeming with life on the surface and in the crevices. Love is what we make it. "It's work," just as Mark Normand states. The payoff is worth it, and it can indeed be everlasting.
