Known Mark for years, had the honor of opening a show he did in Vegas in the early 90's at a small club, where he gathered up about a dozen stars, including Brad Gillis, and man others where we all just jammed all night long. Had met Mark many times, as he was a guitar teacher at Vesley music in Las Vegas before the VVi thing. His old band Excursion got to open for Stryper when he was really young. Most las vegas rockers and musicians back then knew Mark as just another on of the guys around town. Very down to earth, no ego at all. Him and Tim and Blas would show up to random events like country fairs and such. I remember hangin with Tim and his brother on the midway of the Jaycee state fair. When Slaughter wasnt on tour the guys would frequent concerts and clubs, I ended up in the seat next to Blas at a Winger show, where he grabbed myself and my guitar player after the show to ask us to open their all star show. I hear he now lives in Nashville, im just 20 miles south of there these days. Wonder if I should look him up.

Slaughter and Firehouse (Bill Leverty talked to me for like 10 minutes about guitars and songs at a signing at a show in at the Pensacola Fairground in 1998) are the two bands that gave me personally amazing fan experiences outside of the music part of the show; they're highlights i wont forget.

Mark was too kind and reserved. If I were in his shoes, I would've torn Vinnie a new one. Let's face it. The VVI albums were just shred-fests that went nowhere fast. Slaughter had great songs and platinum albums, so it's safe to say Mark came out on top and left Vinnie in his dust.
@davidfitzgerald65406 жыл бұрын
LMAO...Slaughter has never had ONE platinum album..let alone " albums"... Their first album went gold and then it was all down hill from there...all the albums after their debut with Up all night didnt even debut in the charts... Mark Slaughter is living in a double wide trailer on a half acre of property...While Vinnie Vincent is collecting Royalty Checks from three different multiplatinum selling KISS albums....shut the fuck up .....stupid
@ShockMe19946 жыл бұрын
david fitzgerald Slaughter never even had one platinum album? actually you’re wrong, Slaughter has had two platinum albums, first album was 2x platinum in US and second album was platinum in Canada. Oh & VV doesn’t get KISS Royalties LOL!!!
@JohnDoe-gk7ok6 жыл бұрын
The first VVI record was an 80s classic. Take away the shredding and you still have great songs! It has the best version of Back on the Street. I also love Boys Are Gonna Rock, No Substitute, Invasion, and Animal. The second album wasn’t as good, but it has some gems: Ashes to Ashes, Love Kills, Ecstasy, That Time of Year, and Deeper. Slaughter had some great songs as well. I’ve been listening to Days Gone By, which has a real Queen-Somebody-to-Love vibe.
@ShockMe19946 жыл бұрын
John Doe you might think of them as classics and don’t get me wrong, I listen to some of those songs but they are not 80s classics, most people don’t know who VV is, let alone the VVI, only hardcore KISS & Slaughter fans.

and she shit on Derek Christopher who brought her sorry, BROKE ass out of obscurity...Derek ripped off many by allowing his friends in for free at the ATL Expo which in turn caused long lines and paying customers to miss out on the meet and greets that they paid for. Derek didn't deliver all that was paid for (mini guitars, meet and greets and photo ops from VIP paying guest) so I'm not sure if Derek quit Vanessa or she quit him. Seems many people have forgiven transgender warrior for he took money from promoters Phil Elliot and Peter Arquette and was a no-show on some convention stops but I guess they've since forgiven him since they both have been in attendance at various recent appearances and Arquette paid Vinnie for a private signing where it appeared he signed HUNDREDS of photos/posters nd cardstocks that will be sold on his KISS museum website. I'm not aware of anyone quitting his camp for it's just he and the Cro magon looking weirdo, he has for his manager, some monster con/expo fanboy named Randy which I think also doubles as Vanessa's lover? And as for "some" fans, it's hundreds if not more and Vanessa admitted to that in the ATL Q&A and he's yet to make good as he promised but instead sell more crap. Paul Stanley called him out for selling the fake "stage used" guitars that were cheap knockoffs. EDITED I just heard he fired his longtime guitar tech that (s)he gushed about in Atlanta? Seems the unraveling has began!

It makes me laugh that no one is questioning why Mark is here in the first place? Eddie Trunk was A&R for and involved with KISS and Ace directly in more ways than just singing on one album... Does that mean he should be at a KISS Expo bad mouthing Paul and Gene? Second of all, is he not here because of Vinnie Vincent? The high road would have been to not show up at all if he's not on the same page with what/whom he is representing at the KISS Expo.
