Worked great, thank. Just want to add that when I initially plugged the USB in to the car, there was a significant delay before the update acknowledgement message came up. I realized this when I unplugged it, thinking that it didn't recognize it, and got the message that the install file didn't complete (or something similar). Tried again with some patience and it worked fine. Also, at the end of the update, the screen looks as thought it's done (looks like the normal screen), but it's not. Again, after a delay, a screen came up that told me it would finish up in the background and alert me when it was really done. Thanks for this video. I was unable to access the "click here" instructions at the website's download page and was getting frustrated.

I have the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. I am frustrated that when using uConnect Theater, and I want to change the fade of the sound, I have to exit uConnect, go to Media, which then stops playing the uConnect content and plays whatever is on my phone, until I navigate through about numerous screens, before I am able to navigate back to uConnect Theater. Am I doing something wrong? Any thoughts? Thanks.

2012 Chrysler 300c went to download bar...no units just download. Then went right back to Garmin where to screen. Did it work or no?

Download and instalation seem to go ok on my 2017 Pacifica chrysler. However routing went crazy. Basically it seem to take the milk run route. Checked its routing and time and it more than doubled. I checked off fastest route and also shortest route. Hope you may have some suggestions.

The Theater-Update only works if USB-Stick is plugged into the USB-Port either by the Screens in the back, or the USB-Port above the BluRay-Player/ left of the AUX-3.5mm-Port.

Mark - My update only has one file called swdl.upd and not the one ending in .iso?? Also, when I copy this to a USB and insert in the car it doesn't even recognise the USB i.e. the light on the USB doesn't even light up. Is there a special format the USB needs to be? Mines MS-DOS (FAT) and I'm using a Mac to do it just like you.

Hi Mark , I currently have a 2015 Jeep GC that has Uconnect version 15.06.1 on it. Do you know if it is possible to update this to the latest Uconnect 8.4 Version? When I enter my VIN details on the uconnect website it tells me it is up to date .... If it cant be updated, can 15.06.01 just be removed and replaced with 8.4 ?? I am taking it into the dealership on Thursday however would be great to know before then. Thanks mate

I have 2015 grand Cherokee limited, I was doing the 18.45.01 Uconnect update and suddenly the update failed on the 11 part saying "Sierra Wireless: bolo file install failed. Please remove USB stick to reset." and I've replugged the USB and tried another USB but nothing change. How can i get back my old software version or download an older one, the vehicle was on 18.11.07. PLS HELP.

8.4 has anyone had advice on when it doesn’t recover? It’s blue screen and says please insert update usb disk.. dealer told me today after sitting for 4hrs ... they cannot help me.. I called Uconnect to escalate it.. however in the 4 hrs I sat there 2 other people came in for the same issues.. and they also failed to help.

Good video with clear explanation; however, my 2017 RAM 1500 won't read the contents of the thumb drive. I've tried several times with no luck. I took it to the dealer yesterday, but the service guy said they don't do these updates there (not true, they did my last one there). They were busy so he explained the process to me and told me how easy it was to do. Five tries later and it still doesn't work.The Uconnect tech support people don't work on Sunday, so this will drag into next week. What a hassle.

I purchased 2019 NORTH AMERICAN MAP FOR UCONNNECT for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited and received the thumb drive, SD card for software updates and SD card for the Map/GPS updates. After reading the instructions (such tiny print) I'm thinking about taking it to the dealer and let them do it. I'm wondering if you have a video for this or some idea of what the dealer would charge? Thanks for all you do.

What format is your Kingston thumb drive used in this video? The instructions say the thumb driver needs to be formatted for NTFS, which ordinarily requires a Windows machine. You're obviously using a Mac and a Kingston brand thumb drive, but you never mentioned whether you'd formatted the drive beforehand. There are several assumptions that could be made here because the file is readable on the thumb drive - either it's formatted for MacOS (which would make sense for a Mac user), or you'd already formatted it for NTFS or something else compatible to the Uconnect update process and systems. Maybe I'm overthinking things here, but it would be helpful if you could comment about the format used on the thumb drive. I tried formatting a thumb drive to NTFS per the instructions and copied two files with similar file name extensions as in your video, but the radio never seems to recognize the files after plugging the thumb drive into the USB port in the Grand Cherokee. Thanks for the video Mark! I recently started having issues with the navigation for my 2015 Cherokee and the update seems to have resolved the issue. One key point is to copy the files to the root of the USB Drive. As you mention... the UConnect video does not mention that.
