I was becoming very, very confused. The part about the customer wanting you preserve the patina on the choke tubes was a big "WTF?" moment. Like, what patina? And why are the choke tubes so important to preserve anyway? My biggest "WTF?" moment was seeing the wire wheel used on the action. I was appalled! Shelton stalls out the wire wheel trying to clear the screw head, and you look on with approval. "You think maybe we need a more powerful grinding wheel?" No! Oh god, no! Surely not! The WTFery in this video really had me going. "So here we have an amazingly recreated shotgun. It's completely done and filmed in broad daylight so you can see all of its hues and colors." Ha ha, now I get it, and I know there are countless hints I missed because I'm not well-versed in all this stuff.

1) Spray rusting agent on new gun. 2) Start filming "restoration video". 3) Attempt to cycle action to demonstrate damage. 4) Hammer pins and components apart (usually sped up with mice vocals). 5) Grind or soak components in evaporust. 6) Reassemble. 7) Shoot with gloves on. 8) Much KZfaq profit and gunsmith learning.

I did a Winchester Model 12 that had been in the water for about a week. Fresh Water and cold fresh water at that. The stocks were the most work. Dried them out for a few months and then fixed a few splits. It's not 100% now but there was no pitting on the exposed metal, so the metal is near 100%.
