I listen to every one of these I can find - this is the best advice I've found...

With each lesson I listen to I realize more and more that I’m not really married. What do you do when you realize your wife’s needs include anything and everything but you? I’m tired of meeting needs and having none met. 14 years and counting 😞. We still haven’t been able to do the first step of leaving and cleaving. According to the marriage counselor that I go to alone now, my wife and father in law have an enmeshed relationship. He is her husband. And because of this we have no spiritual, emotional or physical intimacy. He tells her all this stuff you say makes a marriage mechanical and marriage isn’t mechanical. After talking to my pastor to see if I was missing something he reassured me that there is a mechanical element to marriage. I already understand that and there is nobody to hold them accountable. Why did she want to get married so bad when she hates every principle of it? All I want is for us to negotiate decisions that we can both agree on and she just wants me to shut up and let her do her thing and everything is perfect. Just an example of her dad’s manipulation: he was an assembly of G-d pastor and also brags about how good he was at the Bible verse competitions he attended. So it’s no mistake when he changed one of the most famous verses in the Bible to say “as for me and my family we will serve the lord”. There’s a big difference between house and family and my wife hangs on his every word.

Maybe I am overly jaded, but for the better part of the last decade all marriage means is pain. Lots and lots of pain with very, very little positive in return. Haven't heard "I love you" in over 7 years now. Talk about destroying your heart!

I dont understand what God has joined together let no man separate.... if you didn't pray and wait on the lord for your spouse does that mean the one you married isn't going to work out bc God didnt join you.... you chose to join yourself with someone and get married...
