2 жыл бұрын

Today we are looking at my custom 6.5L stroked Hemi V8 engine. The project was completed by Rolling Thunderz and MorePower Performance. The car is now fast, powerful, and extremely loud, pushing around 600 horsepower! It's under the hood of my 2006 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona. I'm going to cover all the specs of the engine, including the block, displacement, cylinder heads, camshaft, valvetrain, rotating assembly, intake manifold, throttle body, exhaust, and more! You'll get a good look at each piece of equipment as I go through it.
Going forward, there will be more ‘Daytona Episodes’ that will include the full build specs, the build process, the custom exhaust, a review, my experiences, going to the dyno and seeing what kind of numbers we can get with this thing, and anything else I can think of. Hope you are as excited as I am, and I’m really happy to be able to share this experience with all of you! Watch along for all the details on this sweet new build!

Pure art that drinks more fuel all the time and has to be revved to the max to achieve max power. I will stick to my 2.8 liter kenne bell at 12 lbs of boost thanks and get decent mileage when the throttle is at cruise position. And have instant power when pushed to say half throttle.

Good stuff. I used a Manley Stroker kit in my 5.7 as well but I only got it bored out to .05 so not so much. I’m planning for a more boosted setup. I was told 397 was all about NA power because of the compression ratio. I don’t have a ATI dampener yet but planning on when I get the supercharger and fuel system. Love your build man. Nice to see someone doing something with the Pre-Eagle 5.7s! 👌🏿

Great video. In the same boat with my 07 300c. Dropped valve seat cylinder & head damage. Going .030 over to be safe as I haven't pulled the engine yet but seen the damage with a scope. Went with Manley crank and rods & DSS pistons. Just spec'd my own cam with Cam Motion, 237 (I) 251 (E) @.050, .616 lift (I) with 1.6 RR & .613 (E) with 1.65 RR. 113 lsa, +3.5 degrees advanced. If I use the 1.65 RR most use for the intake lift I have .635 lift. Using 6.1 heads ported by Indy Cylinder Head. Not sure where your getting .900 lift on the exhaust? I don't think that's possible? Originally was going with Manley springs retainer, keepers but changed to PSI 1516 but sticking with the Manley steel retainers and keepers along with all Manley single groove valves. Not big on using titanium retainers for a daily street engine. Ported 6.1 intake by HHP with Hellcat TB with nitrous in its future. Decided to try the Flowtech 1 7/8" headers with Black Widow Venom 250 mufflers with 3" exhaust. BTW which ATI damper did you go with?

Thanks! I have now done the gearing (3.06 Getrag LSD), but trans is totally stock. There is a valve body tune of some sort to awaken the trans because it is definitely a weak point for this build. However, my performance guys have started putting the 8-speeds in these cars so I want to do that in mine next summer, should be a really nice upgrade. Will cost $7,000 CAD for parts and labor though

NAG1 has held up haven’t had an issue across probably just under 10,000 kms of hard driving. My performance guy did take it out for a spin a few weeks ago and said it was not shifting as snappy so maybe it’s on its way out. But still has held up with the hard driving

What compression is it? Definitely not over 600hp at the crank. Those dyno numbers seem spot on for a relatively mild stroked 5.7. my heads/cam 6.1 made 470hp/435tq. Your cam seems pretty mild so there might be more power with a bigger cam and spin that thing to 6800rpm.

Where does the 0.7854 come from? Also, wouldn't displacement be (bore diameter x 3.14) x stroke x # cylinders? You want to know the volume off each cylinder, so bore x pi then multiplied by stroke would achieve that, then multiply by number of cylinders for total displacement.

@The Bloozer yea I know. It combines a bored out engine, with higher compression, direct and port injection, a higher rpm limit, more air, and 93 octane. Ford has shown that alot of power can be squeezed out of 5 liters. Dodge can't make at least 530 hp and 500+ tq from the 6.4 hemi since it's based on a design over a decade and a half before and don't wanna change it or greatly revise it. Look also at the 345 hemi. It's extremely suppressed in power. Ppl have tuned it and have easily squeezed good power out of it. Chevy has put out more hp from their 6.2 v8 in the c8 than the 392

@@blackice7408 Like I said, the Reason dodge does not have the peak HP numbers is because they make far more low end torque, it has nothing to do with the engine design, The Hemi heads flow amazingly (340+CFM) they purposefully have the engines Detuned from the factory for more torque. with a radical cam and high RPM, a 392 can easily make well over 550-600hp.

@The Bloozer and alot of forging and reworking to reinforce the engine to handle the extra power

@@blackice7408 Definitely not. The 6.4 uses the exact same block as the 6.2 Hellcat, and has been shown to handle well over 1200 horsepower with ease.
